Does "neglect" really count as violence? All it does is make my house dirty.

Abbott, Saturday, 14 July 2007 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

in the sense of affective neglect, like to one's kid; lack of attention disponibility stimulation affecting the kid cognitively affectively socially physically. i'M a big fan of violence!

few years ago i saw an jewfro mathrock guy walking on the sidewalk with a tshirt saying remove all violence from your life and I thought duh but then figured it could be an interesting experiment, to push this some more ; thought i made some progress with this then being on ilx made me regressed back to it and i then i blamed htensl.

same as "secret of comedy"

sexyDancer, Monday, 16 July 2007 21:59 (eighteen years ago)

lying and silence are both forms of neglect

El Tomboto, Monday, 16 July 2007 22:09 (eighteen years ago)

and manipulation/control/intimidation/threats/blackmail/harassment are also part of the same food group

poll is too granular

El Tomboto, Monday, 16 July 2007 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

perhaps the thing with neglect being so terrible is that there's little to nothing the victim can do? seems like there's more opportunity for resistance and reversal in the case of people being more actively nasty

El Tomboto, Monday, 16 July 2007 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Sunday, 22 July 2007 00:34 (eighteen years ago)

Sébastien, Sunday, 22 July 2007 03:41 (eighteen years ago)

a couple of days ago i meant to post about some of the nominees to fine-grain the poll but was not into it; will do so but now i'll say misogyny and homophobia are also barrels of fun of course

Sébastien, Sunday, 22 July 2007 03:59 (eighteen years ago)

lying and silence are both forms of neglect

but lying and silence have to be active forms.

and manipulation/control/intimidation/threats/blackmail/harassment are also part of the same food group

that whole palette of psychological violence can be used during the realization of one of it's component ex: a manipulator that uses " anger", "to be sulky" and "intimidation" do his main thing, manipulation.

Sébastien, Sunday, 22 July 2007 14:53 (eighteen years ago)
