site redesigns you have loved

every time a site changes significantly - nytimes, guardian, nydailynews, etc. - i hate it. but is this just inherent conservatism and love of the known? tell me about site redesigns where you were like "yeah!"

i still don't get why they haven't extended Guardian re-design to the actual article pages themselves (2001 NARROWNESS).

I like FIFA.com's recent re-design - it looked amateurish recfor years but is now up to standard, tho if anything there's a bit too much content on the home page.

blueski i like the narrowness! it's easier to read a narrow column than a wide one.

yeah but the way the main column is less wide than the menu above it looks horrible to me. i'd rather bump it all to the left and have more links and ads on the right. it's just that they don't seem to have updated the template at all in so many years now despite modernising the home page.
