There should be a going-away party. Somberly of course.

― Jordan, Tuesday, 17 July 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)
To hell.
Or LA.
Whichever is closer.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2007 21:36 (eighteen years ago)
I'm going where the helicopters have cameras.
(xp)
― admrl, Tuesday, 17 July 2007 21:36 (eighteen years ago)

Yes. In fact I want to go to that.
― admrl, Tuesday, 17 July 2007 23:34 (eighteen years ago)
Shall we plan something for Admrl? What is a good night?
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)
I am pretty damn busy almost every night! =(
Sort of scary that this is really happening now. I was boxing stuff up until midnight last night.
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 19:53 (eighteen years ago)
how about a (Friday?) lunch?
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:01 (eighteen years ago)
Could do! Next Friday maybe?
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:03 (eighteen years ago)
Actually, next Friday would be good for me. Everyone at work is away at a conference.
RSVP list: 1) admrl 2) Steve Shasta
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:06 (eighteen years ago)
haha!
Well, Kyle doesn't check ILX much and I don't think Alex reads ILE. But also I'm unpopular.
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:12 (eighteen years ago)
I eat my lunch at the freaks and geeks table of ILX (which, if you think about it, is REALLY saying something)
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:13 (eighteen years ago)
Okay adam, looks like just you and me over a Specialties Ham on Rye.
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:15 (eighteen years ago)
Just like old times!
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:16 (eighteen years ago)
ye olde tymez.
we really should just go to Medieval Tymes... such classic British culture.
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)
or "London Wine Bar"
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)
I read ILE. I'll be there. This is Friday, July 27th?
― Alex in SF, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)
Where for lunch and what time?
― Michael White, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:21 (eighteen years ago)
You read ILE! Yes.
xp
I don't know! Medieval Tymes
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)
Michael White!
I thot you were gone too
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:23 (eighteen years ago)
it should be centrally located. FiDi?
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)
I can do most places.
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:25 (eighteen years ago)
so i've heard.
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

I can hop the underground to get down there.
― Alex in SF, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:32 (eighteen years ago)
I will try to make whatever you guys agree to
― Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:35 (eighteen years ago)
we should have british food like enormous turkey legs and goblets of mead in adam's honour!
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:37 (eighteen years ago)
HonoUR! If you really want to honour my tradition(s), we could go to a Jewish deli. But there aren't many of them.
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:39 (eighteen years ago)
there's one waaaaaay out in the Richmond that I know of. And a totally overpriced one off of Union Square.
― Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:43 (eighteen years ago)
I'm FiDi and pretty much limited to noon to 1PM.
The best Jewish deli I've been to in the City recently is the one on Polk.
― Michael White, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:44 (eighteen years ago)
There is a glatt kosher restaurant just inside the chinatown gate called Sabra.
― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:44 (eighteen years ago)

― Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

"The best Jewish deli I've been to in the City recently is the one on Polk."
Yeah East Coast West (aka Miller's Delicatesson) is the best SF deli. There is also Moishe's Pipic or Moishe Pipics (or Pippics) or whatever a couple of blocks from my work. It's good, but not world class or anything.

Adamrl are you in this???
― Jordan, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:53 (eighteen years ago)
I thought they were all wandering around the West Coast of the US.
― Michael White, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:53 (eighteen years ago)
I'm not wandering! I better be in that book.
― admrl, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

I may bring my wife
― Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 21:58 (eighteen years ago)
FREDRIK: She lightens my sadness, she livens my days, She bursts with a kind of madness my well-ordered ways. My happiest mistake, the ache of my life: You must meet my wife.
She bubbles with pleasure, she glows with surprise, Disrupts my accustomed leisure and ruffles my ties. I don't know even now quite how it began. You must meet my wife, my Anne.
One thousand whims to which I give in, Since her smallest tear turns me ashen. I never dreamed that I could live in So completely demented, contented a fashion.
So sunlike, so winning, so unlike a wife. I do think that I'm beginning to show signs of life. Don't ask me how at my age one still can grow-- If you met my wife, you'd know.
DESIREE: Dear Fredrik, I'm just longing to meet her. Sometime.
FREDRIK: She sparkles...
DESIREE: How pleasant.
FREDRIK: She twinkles...
DESIREE: How nice.
FREDRIK: Her youth is a sort of present--
DESIREE: Whatever the price.
FREDRIK: The incandescent--what?--the--
DESIREE [offering a cigarette]: Light?
FREDRIK: --of my life. You must meet my wife.
DESIREE: Yes, I must. I really must. Now--
FREDRIK: She flutters.
DESIREE: How charming.
FREDRIK: She twitters.
DESIREE: My word!
FREDRIK: She floats.
DESIREE: Isn't that alarming? What is she, a bird?
FREDRIK: She makes me feel I'm--what?--
DESIREE: A very old man.
FREDRIK: Yes--no!
DESIREE: No?
FREDRIK: But--
DESIREE: I must meet your Gertrude.
FREDRIK: My Anne.
DESIREE: Sorry--Anne.
FREDRIK: She loves my voice, my walk, my mustache, The cigar, in fact, that I'm smoking. She'll watch me puff until it's just ash, Then she'll save the cigar butt.
DESIREE: Bizarre, but You're joking.
FREDRIK: She dotes on--
DESIREE: Your dimple.
FREDRIK: My snoring.
DESIREE: How dear.
FREDRIK: The point is, she's really simple.
DESIREE: Yes, that much seems clear.
FREDRIK: She gives me funny names--
DESIREE: Like?
FREDRIK: "Old Dry-as-Dust."
DESIREE: Wouldn't she just?
FREDRIK: You must meet my wife.
DESIREE: Yes, I must, yes, I must.
FREDRIK: A sea of whims that I submerge in, Yet so loveable in repentance. Unfortunately still a virgin, But you can't force a flower--
DESIREE: Don't finish that sentence! She's monstrous!
FREDRIK: She's frightened.
DESIREE: Unfeeling!
FREDRIK: Unversed. She'd strike you as unenlightened--
DESIREE: No, I'd strike her first.
FREDRIK: Her reticence, her apprehension--
DESIREE: Her crust!
FREDRIK: No!
DESIREE: Yes!
DESIREE: Fredrik!
DESIREE: Let me get my hat and my knife!
FREDRIK: What was that?
DESIREE: I must meet your wife.
FREDRIK: DESIREE Yes, you must. Yes, I must.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 22:00 (eighteen years ago)
where is this? do not reschedule on my account, as I said goodbye to AdamRL last night and will again before he leaves, and I don't need to remind you all that I find most of you detestable.

I'm leaving work around 5ish but I won't be around. Sooooo much shit to do. I am already a giant ball of tension (even more than usual).
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:32 (eighteen years ago)
Who knows about California landlord law? Am I right in assuming that after a tenant moves out, a landlord is required to apply a fresh coat of paint to the walls?
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)
Not automatically.
― Michael White, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)
OK. So, we painted two of the rooms. The landlord has given us one can of primer and said if we need anymore we should buy it. And now it appears she is out of contact. Does it seem weird for us just to apply primer and then leave? But if there was a certain color (even white) that she wanted, wouldn't she have been more specific?
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:35 (eighteen years ago)
I will put this to the landlord thread.
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:36 (eighteen years ago)
I would think they're gonna take it outta your deposit unless you paint it back to the original colors. That's what my landlord did with our neighbors.
― Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:38 (eighteen years ago)
personally I would never paint a place I didn't own, too much hassle
Hmmm...thanks, that is helpful.
Yes but I don't particularly like white walls.
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:40 (eighteen years ago)

today is jaxon's birthday
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

― Steve Shasta, Friday, 27 July 2007 20:08 (eighteen years ago)
No!
It's okay! Your non-appearance meant that I got a doggie bag! =)
― admrl, Friday, 27 July 2007 20:48 (eighteen years ago)
But that Brian Lara game won't be worth anything now.
― Steve Shasta, Friday, 27 July 2007 21:08 (eighteen years ago)
Adam, where are you going to watch live football in the southland?
― Michael White, Friday, 27 July 2007 21:42 (eighteen years ago)
