After the destruction of the Sa-Matra, the Kzer-Za surrendered because they realized neither their "Path of Now and Forever" or the Kohr-Ah "Eternal Doctrine" was justified. The Kohr-Ah however, refused to surrender. Soon, they were defeated by the Chmmr and the New Alliance of Free Stars. The Kohr-Ah were remanded to the Kzer-Za, who were to care for them. The two races began the process of living together which reminded them of the eternal shame of their genetic separation. To show the Ur-Quan's willingness to help the League of Sentient Races, Zor-Ath, Ur-Quan Lord #3, and some Kzer-Za agreed to join the Captain's expedition to the Kessari Quadrant. These Kzer-Za brought some Kohr-Ah observers along, but none of their Marauders.

Shortly after several additional Kzer-Za colonies were established in the Kessari Quadrant, the Kohr-Ah in the Kessari Quadrant rebelled and took control of the Kzer-Za colonies. These Kohr-Ah were aided by some Kzer-Za who believed that the Eternal Doctrine had not been discredited because the Kohr-Ah were winning the first Ur-Quan Doctrinal War until the Kzer-Za found the Sa-Matra. The Kohr-Ah were also beginning to win the Second Doctrinal War until the Captain showed up with his Precursor ship to stop them again. The Kohr-Ah in the Kessari Quadrant can also make Marauders with technical readouts they had smuggled onboard with the Ur-Quan expedition.
