OMG paging Angela Chase!!! And Aja, did you bleach your hair first? It's essential to getting good crayola-ish color results. But I do really like that whole brownish-but-unnaturally-red thing. I want to do my hair like that. What did you use?

Yeah, I didn't bleach my hair...too much of a hassle...

I just used Manic Panic Vampire Red.

xpost That's exactly the shade I was considering. How bad has it been with rubbing off on shirts/pillows/anything your hair touches? That's the only thing that worries me.

Well, after you wash the dye out after letting it set for however long, it will get on the towel you use to dry your hair with, so use one that's the same color, or just old and you don't care about. After that, it doesn't rub off...It does start to come off with shampoo and water.

It's hard to match clothes sometimes when your hair is a weird color.

cover your forehead/any skin in proximity to where you're dying with vaseline. wear GLOVES.

i did vampire red in high school and got it all over my hands. i went to school the next day to take an exam and my hand left an orange imprint on my test paper. lolz!

that is not actually high school, it is post-college hah! i went through a plum phase and then one day decided to bleach the front and make it red. i don't know why i look so angry in that pic :(

haha yeah trayce when you said you did that it reminded me of my adventurous dying days. after many years of reds i finally went back to brown. i kind of like it, actually! i have been brown for 1.5 years now (first time since 9th grade or so?). i am excited because monday i am going to be a "model" for a wella color studio seminar which = free cut and color that i can't afford right now so yay!
