First Underdog, now this. Jason Lee needs an intervention.
― Phil D., Friday, 27 July 2007 16:48 (eighteen years ago)
I'm sure there's a Nostradamus quatrain about this somewhere

I feel obligated to note some small mammals must ingest some of their stools to reintake vitamins that went undigested.

Abbott, I had a suitcase with the Chipettes from the Chipmunk Adventure on it. I left it packed under my bed in case I ever had to leave on an adventure.
― jessie monster, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:24 (eighteen years ago)
AWESOME, I hope you broke hella diamond smuggling circuits and got to duke it out in Rome singing with guys about whether boys or girls are superior.

AND SAVED A BABY PENGUIN.
― jessie monster, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)
remember the episode where alvin has to teach theodore all of american history in one night and it includes stuff like columbus sailing off the edge of the world and the pilgrims trying to sell the indians t-shirts? i'm pretty sure that episode eventually led to me becoming a history major. thanks a lot alvin!
― J.D., Friday, 27 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)
Oh man, no, that episode pissed me the fuck off. He wasn't teaching Theodore bu the third chubby, food-obsessed one. And he helped him remember the stuff on the test with food related mnemonics like "General George CUSTARD." Man, even as a kid, I knew they managed to find the maybe two or three total punny food names of American history, spanning randomly throughout time with no connection other than, you know, food names. "A history lesson would never be taught in such a random manner," I thought. Even back then, I was a budding fun-hater.
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)
i was about to be all sourpuss like, i bet nerds with fond memories of the old-ass original 60s(?) cartoon shat a brick over the 80s one i came up on too, but that picture is undeniably horrifying
― A B C, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)
remember when the chipmunks and the chipettes raced around the world because of something to do with diamonds in teddybears
i may be confusing this with the rescuers down under?
― A B C, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:13 (eighteen years ago)
I didn't really think any of the cartoons were GOOD per se, like everything when I was a kid, I just watched it because it was on. I generally found it annoying, altho I'll admit I had a crush on Dave in both series.
That picture is hella horrifying.
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:14 (eighteen years ago)
No, that was just the plot of every '80s movie. That really was Chipmunks' Great Adventure. I think maybe the Tom & Jerry movie was about diamond smugglers, too.
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:15 (eighteen years ago)
xpost
When I first saw the poster, I thought Van Damme was going to be the actor of Dave.
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:16 (eighteen years ago)
diamond in a teddybear is the FIRST Rescuers movie
― Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:17 (eighteen years ago)
i will never get over how fucked up that picture is. it looks like a high budget robot chicken parody
― A B C, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:17 (eighteen years ago)
oh dang i knew i should've checked
i thought bruce campbell was playing dave when i saw the poster

Alvin Shunned By Animal Community, Forced To Wear Scarlet 'A'
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:19 (eighteen years ago)

― Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:23 (eighteen years ago)
alvin looks like a junkie
― latebloomer, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:24 (eighteen years ago)
I know, the photo looks like it's be a promo for Critters or somesuch horror flick if it weren't Alvin & the Chipmunks w/those poses & expressions. Sinister.
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:28 (eighteen years ago)
ok i actually just watched the trailer and...this is pretty satanic
― latebloomer, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:30 (eighteen years ago)
I know, I thought the initial footage (for maybe the first five seconds) was some World War II prison camp or Children of Men thing!
― Abbott, Friday, 27 July 2007 23:39 (eighteen years ago)
HAHAHAHA IT LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE STALKING BRAINZ. SIMON YOU ARE GRIM. APHEX TWIN FACE GAH.

― Abbott, Friday, 3 August 2007 23:22 (eighteen years ago)
Chipmunks movie = :(
Underdog movie = :( :(
― Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 3 August 2007 23:24 (eighteen years ago)
Mallrats I could take, if only for the line "haven't I made it abundantly clear during the tenure of our friendship that I don't know shit?"
This chipmunk horror is just too much. I OBJECT, MR. LEE.
