I Lost My Television's Remote Control!!!

Well it turned out my remote control for my television was absolutely essential because no universal remote I found on the market was gonna make it do what I needed it to do to play DVD's. I was panicking, man!! And then I started to realize that even though I had hitherto refused to believe it, that mother fucker was likely inside the couch. You see I had figured out that whoever made my couch was stupid enough to leave a way for objects to literally disappear into the couch undetected forever. So I lifted the couch and felt around on the bottom and heard a sound strangely like the remote control I so longed for (the second half of 24 Hour Party People depended on this). So I realized I would just have to get some scissors and cut into the bottom fabric of the couch, and when I did so, guess what fell out. The object that had tortured me for half the bloody weekend, that's what. Christ. I'm serious, if I ever lost that, I'd have to buy a new television, it isn't funny. Otherwise I could never play DVD's. Live and learn.

My best solution to this was when I was still at university, I attached it to my loft(bed) with a line of duct tape. Never lost it after that.

B, if this happens again, check online -- we've got a pretty common Sony DVD/VHS combo but when our remote broke I found about 50 exact matches (not universals) for sale on eBay.

My youngest sister used to be our remote control. "J, change the channel".

Sorry about that dude.

Well, blimey, it's Jeff Wright of all folks! Long time no see. Did you know the Church are making a major comeback right now? :P

Anyway, the problem with my remote is it has a feature marked "GAME". When I need to play a DVD on my television, I must push this button marked "GAME" on the remote or it doesn't work. There is no mention of a DVD button, it's just "GAME". And I saw no remotes with a feature named "GAME". Yes I know this makes my television insane, and yes I DID attempt to negotiate with it via buttons on it's front, but it wasn't having me at all. It demanded I use remote control.

Thanks for the suggestions, though. :)
