Out yourselves! You go first.

I give it a try every now and again, I can't get into it like a lot of the members there.

I see no point in buying houses or 'renting' accomodation, what's that all about?

my first life requires enough thought and hard work. what would i want a second one for?

particularly one that's full of all the things (newspapers, money, houses, other people) that give me grief already.

there are a couple of SL threads on here already; i seem to remember having this discussion before ;)

does it integrate with facebook yet? i assume not, because civilisation as i know it seems to be carrying on as normal.

I tried it once a few months ago. Spent about 2 hours customizing my avatar, choosing clothes, hairstyles, all those things. Once I actually got into second life, it turns out that was the most interesting part of the whole thing. I was bored after about 15 minutes. Found it very slow even on my brand new computer. Uninstalled it, never had any urge to revisit it since.

This seems like the Sims and boy was that a disappointment. Out of a job and burning on the lawn, I shit you not. This was after one day. How I cope in the real world, I don't know.

I go to an island and discuss philosophy with a fox and a rabbit. It's like Alice in Wonderland! I'm having a fine time on SL. Msg me if you want to know my SL name, I need a buddy there. Most of ILX is pretty unimpressed or jaded with SL, I know, but I love it.

moley, Monday, 30 July 2007 09:31 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god, it's not so much that I'm unimpressed, just that I know I'll be confronted with my inability to survive in the "cyberworld."

nathalie, Monday, 30 July 2007 09:34 (eighteen years ago)

Come on nathalie! You cannot die in SL. You will not end up on the lawn in flames. You don't need money, you don't need land. You just bum around meeting full moon geekazoids and chatting fart. Remind you of anywhere?

Really, it's just like ILX but all the men look like fools and all the women look like futuristic spacewhores.

I keep meaning to post on my blog of a 'day in the life' on this, just so I can see exactly what I get up to with a few hours spent.

If the graphics engine was at least adequate it would be more enjoyable

Ste, Monday, 30 July 2007 09:50 (eighteen years ago)

moley gets no joy, no names, no SL pals from ILX. moley remains alone. moley is OK with that.

Aha yes I thought of doing that too, but actually it's not quite right is it? On ILX all the men look like fools and all the women look like hottt librarians.

moley, Monday, 30 July 2007 10:20 (eighteen years ago)

Hey! "Futuristic"! :P

Trayce, Monday, 30 July 2007 10:27 (eighteen years ago)

I reckon spacewhores of the future will all look like hott Australian goths :)

Mark C, Monday, 30 July 2007 10:28 (eighteen years ago)

Well, I've not got anything to worry about then, wahey.
