My wife (who is in grad school): I think I might need to read Hegel.
Me: Whoa whoa, are you sure about that? Hegel is like where my understanding stops. Hegel is how I know I'm not really that smart.
Her: I know, I tried to read Hegel last year, you don't remember?
Me: Wait, you did? How far did you get, a page?
Her: The wikipedia article.
Me: I can't even understand the wikipedia article. I think Hegel is one of those things that was written to be studied for years, like its own language.
Her: I think Hegel was not written to be understood by humans.
