Summary totally sounds like a porno, sitcom looks fucking sad:

Anyone want to start a betting pool on how long it will broadcast before dying?

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 9 August 2007 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

where was the punchline to the thing about the cartwheels???

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 9 August 2007 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

without the canned laughter, terrible bg music, and cheesy announcer it might actually be good

hahaha naaah

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 9 August 2007 18:54 (eighteen years ago)

seven months pass...

watched the three episodes on hulu and i liked it. don't remember the music, or an announcer, though.
it's basically posey being spazzy and ambrose acting outraged like a teenager, which plays to their strengths (or at least what i liked about them in other things).
diane wiest is their mom and she is the lols.
2nd and 3rd episodes better than the first.

laugh track is way terrible, though.

mizzell, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 19:34 (seventeen years ago)

I heard yesterday that this was canceled already. Is that possible?

ENBB, Tuesday, 25 March 2008 19:34 (seventeen years ago)

wouldn't doubt it.

pretty fucking grim

The show pulled in just 3.2 million viewers when it debuted March 14 with back-to-back episodes, the network's worst performance in the 8 p.m. hour since fall's "The Next Great American Band." Last Friday's episode, paired with a rerun of "'Til Death," met with similar apathy. "'Til Death" has also been removed from the lineup, with both replaced by repeats of "Bones."

rip next great american band

I won't miss NGAB, but the producers should really consider making Sheila E. the 4th American Idol judge.

I read that Amy Sherman Palladino is filming this in Queens. When is it on? I'd like to watch it, despite the lacklustre reviews. Also: the promo shot of Parkey Posey and Lauren Ambrose at the diner table is such a copy of Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel at the diner table.

I'd been racking my brain lately trying to figure out what TV show pioneered that whole thing with 2 people sitting at a table, thank you for clearing that up.

Holy ... that's actually like 1 out of 100 Americans. I would call that a spectacular success considering all the other things one could be doing during that exact time slot.

TV is doomed if it doesn't redefine what constitutes success.

This is great!

Eppy, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 02:14 (seventeen years ago)

Of course I watched the David Lynch sitcom last night and thought that was great too.

Eppy, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 02:15 (seventeen years ago)

And it's cancelled:

I watched an episode. Parker had a mighty nice apartment for being a children's book editor. I liked the interior of the apartment, and also Harper Collins. Parker was spunky, but Ambrose seemed too moribund for the role.
