NOW 46 was a lot worse. It was from 2000 and the whole of CD2 was a wall of one hit wonder trance crap. At least people probably remember some of the "hits" from NOW 39.

Are these all two-disc affairs?

You do know where ILM is, don't you?

ailsa, Sunday, 12 August 2007 09:25 (eighteen years ago)

I really hate ILM. I had this one mental breakdown where I started hating reading about music & the new music scene. Quit listening to everything on the radio but Coast to Coast AM. Just get new music from MP3 blogs that have old prog weirfness/NWW list stuff.

I'm presuming Mark posted this on the wrong forum considering he somehow manages to do this about once ever three months. I wonder if this poll will get a different outcome over here though.

This is a pretty poor compilation from the start of a pretty poor period in the UK charts. That Space and Cerys Matthews song is one of the worst records of the 90s and bloody hell, Catatonia really were kind of huge weren't they? That seems kind of weird now.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

No Dragostea Din Tei, no credibility.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

It didn't do any better over here then.

17. No Surprises - Radiohead 0

Mark G, Thursday, 16 August 2007 08:14 (eighteen years ago)

Quite right too!

But I am sad that nobody voted for Beat Goes On.

Looking at this tracklisting, this may be the precise year I became old and grumpy.
