I AM AWESOMES
― Mr. Que, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 20:07 (eighteen years ago)
Why fax anything anymore? Just scan to a pdf and email straight from your networked scanner/copier.
― Jaq, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 20:07 (eighteen years ago)
SOME PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF SCANNING AND EMAILS
They probably wouldn't like letters slipped under their doors either then, huh?
― Jaq, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 20:08 (eighteen years ago)
I like faxing, or at least ordering my office asistant to "fax this now, please."
― Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)

ordering my office asistant to "fax this now, please."
This is different; I would enjoy doing this. I need an assistant and a fax machine.
― Jaq, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)
Oh yeah, throwing a stack of 300 pages into a photocopier feeder and having it scan them all into one PDF in like 8 minutes = GODHEAD.
― Abbott, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 21:30 (eighteen years ago)
QUE OTM IN RE: RAY'S OTMNESS.
Whenever I have to fax something, it invariably becomes the most gigantic fucking ordeal. I have to give it to a friend who works in an office and he ends up losing it, or I have to go to the library and be charged $1.50 per page, or I try to get an internet faxing thing set up and end up forgetting about it and paying $10 a month for far too long.
This is why if anyone ever needs a fax from me, they should wait at least two weeks, as that is the amount of time needed to psychically prepare myself for the onslaught of suck.

John McClane: [shows his wedding ring] Just the fax, ma'am. Just the fax.
― RJG, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 21:54 (eighteen years ago)
oh god oh god I hate the fax machine. I am pretty sure the one in our office is THE FIRST FAX MACHINE. it receives faxes only intermittently. :(
― jessie monster, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, hell yeah, fax services charge out the ass. Like the other day I had to fax six pages to the university to straighten out financial aid. I wasn't about to pay $8 to do that, so I used the public employment service and pretended it was a resume.
― Abbott, Tuesday, 14 August 2007 23:17 (eighteen years ago)
I still get take-out menus with a fax number listed. Yeah, whatever, La Hacienda.

Some confusing prepositions there.
― Abbott, Wednesday, 15 August 2007 01:57 (eighteen years ago)
I had an employer who tried to get me to OCR faxes to include in the newsletter. She wouldn't believe me that it didn't work on such ragged jaggedy letters, but she got upset when I typed them up (at a much faster rate) because she had spent a lot on the OCR software (for no reason). So I'd spend an hour an afternoon fixing up OCRs like this:
A Rec))))1hg4 i pe F0n Brendeb Cat)))0f1sh

― Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Wednesday, 15 August 2007 02:13 (eighteen years ago)
I like my HP all-in-one, but when I upgraded my computer, I lost the ability to scan to PDF so when signatures are involved I sometimes have to fax. I used to get all my translation work by fax. Boy, I don't miss those days! But I gotta say that I think faxes are kinda cute. I need a new scanner so I don't need to fax anymore. Also, faxes are good back-up when internet connectivity is spotty.
