It is unfair to put mangos against these other beauties, so i ignored that one.
winner: nectarine.

mizzell, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 20:16 (eighteen years ago)

and what about peacotums, apriums, and plumcots?!?

mizzell, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)

news to me!

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

It bothers me that pluots are not called plummicots. It bothers me a lot. But I still eat them.

Bob Standard, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 21:41 (eighteen years ago)

I chose THERE'S EVEN AGGREGATE DRUPES CALLED DRUPLETS! because it seemed to be a three-in-one!! I LOVE blackberries!

Stevie D, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 21:45 (eighteen years ago)

coffee is obviously going to win

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 00:13 (eighteen years ago)

winner: nectarine.

Right you are. But with all genetic engineering with all sorts of fruits, drupes, druplets and what have you, I'm yet to see a nectarine (or peach) with a skin that doesn't feel all strange and uncomfortable. The trait which brings the nectarine down from it's near perfect status.

mehlt, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 00:39 (eighteen years ago)

go pistachio!!

l, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

Oh my GOD what a fantastic idea for a poll. But it's like choosing between father, son and holy ghost!

The reason I bought my first pluot was it had a sticker featuring a brontosaurus in front of the planet Saturn.

Abbott, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 01:31 (eighteen years ago)

This is worse than "who would u fuk!" I can't vote. It would be wrong.

Beth Parker, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

Pistachio's the one that's really throwing me, because I could eat a whole bag of 'em in one sitting. Makin' like Leslie Nielsen trying to get out of the car, ya know? But a pistachio isn't a nectarine, no sir.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 02:07 (eighteen years ago)

I'd have to check with a botanist, but I think a brontosaurus in front of the planet Saturn is probably technically considered a drupe as well. On account of drupes are awesome, and so is that.

Oilyrags, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 02:21 (eighteen years ago)

raspberry

jhøshea, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 23:07 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for raspberries, but I felt bad about it. Awww, peaches! So delicious with...raspberries!

Beth Parker, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

But I actually have been consuming HUGE quantities of cherries.

Beth Parker, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Thursday, 30 August 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

I bought a giant bag of cherries because houseguests were coming—it cost 32 dollars—the cashier asked me if I was sure, and in a fit of grandiosity I said NO PROBLEM. Then I forgot about them and they TURNED INTO COMPOST.

Beth Parker, Thursday, 30 August 2007 23:08 (eighteen years ago)

How big does a bag of cherries have to be to cost $32 dollars? Were you going to fill a tub with them?

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 31 August 2007 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

omg beth that is so sad! cherries are the only fruit that ever surprise me with their price once at the checkout. which is why i only buy them when they are btwn 1.99 and 2.99/lb. anything more than that is how you get a $32 bag of cherries

i still do not know what this thread is about

rrrobyn, Friday, 31 August 2007 00:57 (eighteen years ago)

's drupes, bruv. Nah seriously...

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 31 August 2007 01:39 (eighteen years ago)

Peaches totally shut out?!??

Wow.

Oilyrags, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:00 (eighteen years ago)

It's the summer of the nectarine. I just made dessert with peaches tonight though.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:04 (eighteen years ago)

i have been eating 3 peaches a day for the past 3 days
i bought a basket of them
they are from ontario and they are v v good
i have also eaten some other things but mostly peaches

rrrobyn, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:13 (eighteen years ago)

This is drupe season, for sure. To not eat drupes is to be a big poop.

Beth Parker, Friday, 31 August 2007 03:50 (eighteen years ago)

To the person who invented white peaches - WTF? Did you consciously set out to develop a peach-like object with absolutely no peach flavor? Yes, a good peach is sweet, but it is also PEACHY ffs.

Jaq, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

two years pass...

These red plums feel like they're radiating some kind of inner light. Oh lord, why do they come but once a year?

kkvgz, Tuesday, 27 July 2010 09:43 (fifteen years ago)

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Tuesday, 27 July 2010 09:47 (fifteen years ago)
