The one-hour special amounts to a re-emergence for Ms. O’Donnell, who hosted a daytime talk show from 1996 to 2002. On Wednesday she will deliver a monologue, introduce musical performances by Alanis Morissette and Ne-Yo and chat up the “30 Rock” cast members Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski.

Surprise guests, comedic skits and a pair of tap dancers will lead up to a finale by the singer Gloria Estefan. The show’s other executive producer, David Friedman, calls it “very old-school variety.”

I watched Rosie bcz I'm stuck in CT with the fam... Anyway, what a disaster aside from Ne-Yo! The "Gypsy" striptease with all the straightfaced product placement was amazing in a shameless way.

roseanne was a hugely important figure in comedy and roseanne is unimpeachable on many levels but god this seems like such a bad, bad idea

Just had a look at her Twitter for the first time. She really isn't that keen on Muslims, is she?

Particularly in contrast with how relatively liberal the show was, given that its subject was working class white suburban/small-town dwelling (can't remember if the show ever made Lanford's status clear in that regard) Midwesterners.

But yes, there are times when I might say the first five seasons or so of Roseanne are my favorite television of all time, but I do not want this thing they're threatening us with.

roseanne herself deserves so much more credit than she gets for a lot of reasons but man she's worked really hard to ensure that no-one wants to make the effort to give it to her
