there's certainly a type of degrading filthy talk that i don't think i would enjoy in the context of a relationship, if anywhere (that being the type that employs ridiculous compound terms like 'fuckjuice' or 'slimehole' or 'mancunt'). however, there's plenty dirty vocabulary out there, and a little verbal stimulation goes a long way -- i don't really have the problem of being self-conscious about it. but it's definitely a chemistry thing, and just because it works with one person doesn't mean it would work with another.

At work yesterday my boss asked me to deliver some flooring samples to one of the decorators to whom she contracts her construction projects.

My boss uses two decorators, both with the same first name. She calls them, fondly, 'straight (NAME)' and 'gay (NAME).' This is very apt.

As I was in the car on the way over, my mom called to wish me a happy birthday. She asked where I was going. Without thinking, I told her I was delivering flooring samples to gay (NAME).

There was a long pause from the other end of the phone. Then my mom bursts out with:

'Don't get drawn into that stuff.'

and I said

'Mom, that's ridiculous.'

and she responded, a bit embarrassed,

'I know, I know it is.'

We didn't speak for a moment, and she followed-up with

'But after what happened to my cousin B----- last month, I think - '

and I cut her off and moved onto the next subject.
