Classic for Pennis, obviously, but does the rest of his career effectively squander away all the good will he earned from zinging Steve Martin?

Dom Passantino, Friday, 24 August 2007 14:35 (eighteen years ago)

That list appears to exclude his early 2000s game show "Liar"

Dom Passantino, Friday, 24 August 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

Should have been a poll. "Perfect World" oh man I remember that. It was him and Nadia Wadia (sic) careers freefalling at exactly the same moment. You should mention it in your lot years of indie article big man.

Featuring the dude who's in the Catherine Tate Show these days.

Dom Passantino, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:09 (eighteen years ago)

That "Liar" was a classic, especially for the long list of "Dannii Minogue has never been accused of Shoplifting" type legal disclaimers after the end of each episode.

never did get round to seeing It's All Gone Pete Tong

I could have sworn he was in that BBC3 sitcom about advertising executives as well.

No, he is not "classic for Pennis" because he nicked the whole premise from Norman Gunston, who did it thing far funnier and about 10 years earlier.

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

Was that the one who went up to John Wayne and asked "Is it true that Robert Mitchum called you Duchess?"

the answer came, "Yeah, ONCE!!"

(see, it's about giving the target space to come out with a zing in return!)

Mark G, Friday, 24 August 2007 15:19 (eighteen years ago)

Gunston was 20 yrs earlier

What was that one-off mockumentary thing he was in, early on, where he played a punk-ish type stroppy rocker? I remember thinking that was pretty good.
