Oh god that's tragic. The link I posted was the first thing I saw and I thought it was like the time I jokingly suggested to someone to smoke their own pubic hair to try & get high, only this was real. I had no idea it was related to this endemic tragedy.

yeah it is depressing. don't mean to make light, i just think it's awfully sad/funny, like something out of a pynchon novel. and, you know, not all that surprising considering the continent-wide disaster that is africa, which is everyone else's shitter so to speak.

Has anyone seen that insane Korean animated feature Aachi & Ssipak? where in a dystopian future, the world's energy is powered by shit? No one can make enough so the government offers highly addictive "juicybars," which in turn causes them to give birth to a generation of mutants (the "diaper gang") who need juicybars to survive?

It's way fucked up, but the animation is damn good. Unsubtitled trailer so maybe you guys will understand a bit what I'm on about.
