Poptimism Club Night: It's a Non-Stop Operation!

so to start off, there is a poptimism THIS SATURDAY, 1 Sept:

A triumphant return to the Cross Kings where we claimed the basement bar (aka cartoon dungeon) for ourselves. Low ceiling caused fears during Andrew WK, and summer holidays thinned us down a touch, but all was joy when we discovered the air-con pipe! And less than a month to the next one too! Because the new regular default position is FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH. From 7pm on the 1st September we’ll return to the Jester Bar (the downstairs bit) of the Cross Kings to play all the best records ever made and probably Candie Payne instead of Mint Royale (please no more Don’t Falter).

And as an extra bonus it is the special annual Petecisism to celebrate the birthdays of Pete and Cis of this parish. Therefore your DJs are:

Man that was FANTASTIC. The last couple of Poptimsims have definitely been up there with the best.

I am SO PROUD that London Bootleg Orchestrating 'Scared of Girls' with 'Where's Your Head At' is becoming a Poptimism tradition.

I am SO ASHAMED at seeing that bar hanging from the ceiling, running jumping and attempting to swing on it, missing it and skidding right across the floor on my arse.

Also can anyone remember which song I had my 'jumping on housemate and doing the helicopter dance' moment to, this time?

I experienced true dancfloor euphoria at one point. And it was brought on by Abs from Fi5e. Unexpected and ACE.

Unable to attend due to friend's birthday commitment, had to go to Blow Up instead. And let me tell you, when they played Parklife and then turned it off at the chorus so EVERYONE IN THE ROOM could hands in the air a cappella singalonga - that's when I thought "I am in the wrong place".

I had no idea Blow Up was still going.

I was thinking of coming along tonight but couldn't persuade Babs to join me and didn't fancy turning up on my own!

I've paid the price for my Britpop folly by really fucking up my wrist from when I fell over the sofa while dashing back from the toilet to queue up the next track. I was too drunk to realise how much pain I was in until this morning :(

Very enjoyable evening though - great to see everyone!

I fell asleep on the sofa (and possibly even had a dream about a small boy in dungarees who caught his arms in the doors of the Paris metro), and thus missed Poptimism AGAIN. grrr.
