The nuts, bolts, and gears show too obviously for my taste, but she's at her best when the roles exploit her frostiness (The Devil Wears Prada, A Cry in the Dark). The one I'm selecting would also make my list of Great Performances in Terrible Adaptations -- The Bridges of Madison County.

seen very few of these, but I'm voting for Defending Your Life

So many dull movies.

milo z, Friday, 31 August 2007 00:29 (eighteen years ago)

Devil Wears Prada vs. Manhattan, I think.

Anne Hathaway's hottt, Woody's funny. How to choose.

milo z, Friday, 31 August 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

In Manhattan her hair does all her acting.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Friday, 31 August 2007 01:03 (eighteen years ago)

Kramer v. Kramer. Powerful, thoughtful film.

Daniel, Esq., Friday, 31 August 2007 02:18 (eighteen years ago)

In Manhattan her hair does all her acting.

HAHA otm

I voted Kramer vs Kramer, because she's the one that ALWAYS makes me cry at the end. I hate her for that.

kenan, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:24 (eighteen years ago)

i hate meryl streep so house of the spirits

gershy, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:41 (eighteen years ago)

Her hair does all the acting in Still of the Night. What a fusspot -- in Silkwood it's all about the chewing gum.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:54 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, most of these movies are snoozers.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:09 (eighteen years ago)

for a great actress, she really could have stopped after 1979.

darraghmac, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:13 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for Death Becomes Her, just to fuck wit y'all

Hurting 2, Friday, 31 August 2007 14:16 (eighteen years ago)

god she is like the epitome of a great actress who i really like whose films i never, ever want to see ever again. wtf? i also voted for death becomes her mainly because i think that if i ran across that on basic cable i might watch some of it.

I really like Defending Your Life once - I don't know if it'd hold up well now.

Hurting 2, Friday, 31 August 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)

Anne Hathaway's hottt

In a microwave on grill mode.

nathalie, Friday, 31 August 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

I thought this said "RoboSheep", so I clicked on it. I don't know what that says about me.

I voted for "Deer Hunter" b/c that moving is fucking great, and she's super in it too. Manhattan would have been my 2nd choice.

I saw "Devil Wears Prada" and liked RoboSheep's performance, but it seems to me like Anne Hathaway has no personality.
