How's the music?
― Jaq, Wednesday, 5 September 2007 19:31 (eighteen years ago)
Publicists don't have hold music, they have hold clips.

i've been playing phone+email tag with interview subject and it almost happened and then did not. just want to say fuckit and find another interview. have never had such a hard time pinning someone down. haha but subject should have a publicist tbh
― rrrobyn, Wednesday, 5 September 2007 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

― jeff, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:10 (eighteen years ago)
I spent 40 minutes on hold with Apple and 10 minutes on hold with Fed Ex. Apple has such horrible hold music! I'd prefer beeping.
― patita, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:10 (eighteen years ago)
hahaha you were in an airport! are you hungry and/or hungover though??
interview excitement is good excitement. also, moviieees! xpost
i'm not going to rant abt what went on with my interview and hijack the on hold thred, but ok just to say that i've never experienced anything like it in 10+ yrs of interviewing/writing. took forever to arrange it in the first place with lots of stupid waiting around, terrible phone + line (could understand 25% srsly), call dropped twice, tired person with no time, even my computer spontaneously shut down near the end. aaahghghedkdg. lol. shoulda gone with my intuition on this one in the first place, which was run aawaay, do the thing you wanted to do. all kinda unbelievable!
― rrrobyn, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:19 (eighteen years ago)
i finished a while ago.
and who is this jeff asshole to call me anything anyway?
― hstencil, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:28 (eighteen years ago)
i'm not hungover but i was so hungry at the airport as i read persepolis on my laptop.
but i had really good sushi here and then
- 1 polka - 1 chicken wing - 1 small piece coffee cake
LIKE THAT, HUNGER?
― s1ocki, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:34 (eighteen years ago)
polka? you danced your hunger away?
― hstencil, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

― s1ocki, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:48 (eighteen years ago)

― hstencil, Thursday, 6 September 2007 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

― libcrypt, Thursday, 6 September 2007 05:46 (eighteen years ago)
Some tech company in florida i had to talk to on a regular basis had a hold music system made by some japanese company in the late '80s. The thing sounded like an NES, and was AWESOME.
I will be in an airport within the hour, to pick up my cousin.
― kingfish, Thursday, 6 September 2007 06:22 (eighteen years ago)
you should start a thread called "i'm with a cousin"
― s1ocki, Thursday, 6 September 2007 11:38 (eighteen years ago)
One German firm I was on hold once with, had a tape of someone saying "Bitte Warten" very quickly, once every ten seconds.

The Dell help line plays Richard Marx's 'Right Here Waiting For You' which is twisted and unfair.
