A vaguely boring question about getting paid late

Does anyone know where I can find out my rights if my wages are paid late? Is it possible to claim back bank charges, interest, that sort of thing?? I've not had much luck with google, so any tips would be gratefully received. Ta.

Yes, all that.

However, getting paid late usually = firm is having money difficulties, start looking for new job!

bugger that, one previous employer of mine - an Extremely High Profile Newspaper And Magazine Publisher - ALWAYS paid every single freelance literally months late all the time, it was common knowledge. Any they're not going under anytime soon, they were just, I suspect, lazy/ineffectual fuXors.

Oh, Freelancers / Contractors, different kettle of fish!

Its a big university - the payment is late because some fuxxor had 3 of my time sheets sat on their desk for weeks before they did anything about it. That said, I'm looking for a new job anyway.

Is there any legislation about getting bank charges refunded when its the employer's fault?

Probably not, but you could threaten them with a small claims sort of thing.

Or, just ask and the Human resources might well sort it. It has been known.

You might just be out of the cash on this one.
