Ken, if you booked ticket with a credit card you must take that credit card. Travel insurance is a thought? How about an adapter in case you have anything that plugs in? What about chargers for various electronics?

Mark C, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:00 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't been on a plane since before 9/11! We might go on one in a couple of months to NO though. I'd rather drive but you know. . .

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)

shit guys. i'm so unprepared. i will need an adaptor thing for ipod and camera and phone. will they be expensive? ipod is the important one really, cos that's the one that will definitely run out (on the plane trip alone!)

argh.

i should get travel insurance - can i still do it at this late stage? (i'm leaving in 2 days)

New Order have an airport?

Mark G, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

So it's not really the travelling/plane thing that's flummoxing you, it's going abroad right? You can probably do it in two days but should get off the internets and get busy.

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:04 (eighteen years ago)

Ken the adaptor will cost a couple of quid, and all your chargers should work with it. You can get insurance at any stage up to the flight - have a brief search online, insureandgo I think I used once. It's very easy and shouldn't cost more than £40-£50 I don't think.

Mark C, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:05 (eighteen years ago)

Or stay on the internets and get Travel Insurance and print it off where you are.

Mark G, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:05 (eighteen years ago)

You should still be able to get travel insurance. Check online for cheap and reputable sources. Also, I have a universal adaptor that you can borrow if you like.

Don't take any liquids onboard with you unless they're in the clear plastic baggy. And since you're going to the States, bring photo ID everywhere. And a wedding ring for the bride you're going to pick up in Vegas.

And a shirt like this to show you're one of the good guys:

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)

I want that shirt!

photo ID = passport as i have lost my driving licence.

i hope i won't lose my passport.. that would suck.

if i can borrow the adaptor thing that would be well good! i hope i have an ipod charger. i normally charge using a usb cable maybe if i can't find the charger i'll just bring the laptop as well......

Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

I want that shirt!

Ugh no, I was joking. My boyfriend used to have a few ("I'd rather be killing terroists") that he wore to be "ironic". But I worried that not many peopel would see the irony. So I trashed them. When he asked what happened to them I said they must have gotten lost in the move.

accentmonkey, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

Mark C, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

how much water can you take on board now? 1 thimble's worth or 2?

i booked a flight for first time in over a year and easyjet asked me what ID i would be usin (uhhh, password still OK yeh?) and how big my hand luggage was going to be. this was the only difference i noticed between booking now and booking before tht big Heathrow alert around a year ago.

blueski, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 23:07 (eighteen years ago)

You can take as much water on board as you want - the condition is you have to buy it AFTER the security check.
