This is probably on loads of other threads, but hey! My (now temporarily ex) flatmate is having a right nightmare finding a cheap flatshare in New York. I've been told these are thin on the ground over there. In London it's just a case of going on the gumtree website or something and muddling through. Any advice? She's only there for three months, working as an intern for a big name fashion house (with v.little pay) What's she to do? The last place she saw the guy asked her if she walked topless around the flat at any point and she is now understandably quite freaked out.
