blueski, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

I have serious irrational hate for her.

horseshoe, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

I can't believe I just voted for Two Girls and a Guy.

Didn't I get mocked on here, at some point, for liking Heather Graham?

(xpost, I think I know who did the mocking now)

nabisco, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

I have serious irrational hate for her.

Fixed.

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

even in tp?

W4LTER, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

maybe espesh in tp.

W4LTER, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

ha sorry nabisco! I don't remember that.

horseshoe, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

no "drugstore cowboy," no credibility

hstencil, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

lol i bet stevem votes 'scrubs'. i had forgotten she was in 'arrested development'.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

wait, you liked Two Girls and a Guy? wtf

horseshoe, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for Bowfinger

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

included her turn in AD because i really like that episode and her in it

Killing Me Softly is an AMAZINGLY bad film but you do get to see more of her nude than in Boogie Nights, she plays a WEB DESIGNER WITH HER OWN OFFICE and at one point wears glasses as part of 'I am from The Guardian' disguise <3 why the film is actually set in London i couldn't tell

blueski, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

omg especially in Twin Peaks!!! she's the worst. fucking Annie.

I'm sorry I'm being that asshole who hates up the thread.

horseshoe, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

horseshoe. i hate her too. i don't know why. oh, maybe it's because i think she can't act.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:24 (eighteen years ago)

I don't care whether she can act.

Noodle Vague, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:27 (eighteen years ago)

but you do get to see more of her nude than in Boogie Nights, she plays a WEB DESIGNER WITH HER OWN OFFICE and at one point wears glasses as part of 'I am from The Guardian' disguise <3 why the film is actually set in London i couldn't tell

it's like they reached deep deep into my mind, and pulled out a really really terrible movie (but with some hott sexx)

blueski, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:28 (eighteen years ago)

The Spy Who Shagged me.

For not being "better" than the film, like one Liz Hurley, for one.

And also being the only film I remember her in. Oh yeah "The Guru" too.

I like her.

Mark G, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:40 (eighteen years ago)

...but you do get to see more of her nude than in Boogie Nights...

Like what, her spleen?

John Justen, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

I caught the beginning of Killing Me Softly on tv a few nights ago, having no idea what it was, and couldn't look away. It was almost hypnotizing.

Jordan, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:42 (eighteen years ago)

Why I like her: see, she's all purrty and doll-like, and could constantly get cast as "bubbly" or "vulnerable" -- except she has this big-eyed straightforward fast-talking thing and these matter-of-fact speech patterns, and they combine to this point where she often starts to border on kinda CRAZY, like SCARY-enthusiastic pretty. This is why the only scene I remember from Boogie Nights is the one where she and Julianne Moore are doing loads of coke and she's all crazy-eyed happy and "you can be like my mom." Nobody has ever succeeded in casting her as the pretty blonde Everygirl, because she comes off like she's operating on some whole other totally wired level, like she eats ecstasy for breakfast.

(The problem with this is that Scrubs seized on exactly this aspect of her and proceeded to beat it like a dead horse in the most annoying of ways.)

nabisco, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:43 (eighteen years ago)

no License To Drive = you are an idiot, go back to making polls about Dexys Midnight Runners for the love of Samhain.

Steve Shasta, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:47 (eighteen years ago)

https://www.smestore.com/images/RadioButton.gifDon't Stand Me Down

Mark G, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:49 (eighteen years ago)

There's this idea that people only like her if they want to DO her, but my sense is that if she's anywhere near as full of pent-up big-eyed energy as her acting makes her seem, I would quickly flee her presence rather than have any of that directed at me. In some ways she's like a scary alien model of Lauren Graham, more unnerving than cute about it.

nabisco, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:53 (eighteen years ago)

Heather Graham gets all this attention while my John Duigan thread languishes...there is no justice!!!

Ned Trifle II, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:55 (eighteen years ago)

Needs more nudity. Or does it?

Mark G, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

thanks Steve SASSta

blueski, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:07 (eighteen years ago)

nabisco pretty much OTM except i would have marriage all these women with surname Graham why because etc.

blueski, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:10 (eighteen years ago)

i totally like her! b/c of the twin peaks and the drugstore cowboy and the license to drive, plus her being on arrested development and scrubs. my reasons are similar to nabisco's otm reasoning. plus she is also on the v short list of women i wld DO.

rrrobyn, Friday, 14 September 2007 01:12 (eighteen years ago)

I have just watched an interview with her, and reconfirmed that she (a) is smart, and (b) has a PSYCHO LAUGH.

nabisco, Friday, 14 September 2007 01:23 (eighteen years ago)

I voted Swingers because it's a really small but apt role. I think she's kinda terrible in almost every comedy she's ever been in with a large role, like she gives off a lightweight vibe that gets her cast in comedies but she's actually incapable of being funny or even being a good straight woman.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 14 September 2007 02:16 (eighteen years ago)

it's because she looks like a doll that she creeps me the fuck out.
also, she did a movie with ed burns, so she sux.

gershy, Friday, 14 September 2007 02:21 (eighteen years ago)

anyone who doesnt vote boggie nights is a total fuckbag - excepting those who earn grudging respect for backing bowfinger.

jhøshea, Friday, 14 September 2007 02:33 (eighteen years ago)

boggie nights

Iron Age pr0n rulez!

gershy, Friday, 14 September 2007 03:02 (eighteen years ago)

gershy, Friday, 14 September 2007 03:05 (eighteen years ago)

also, she did a movie with ed burns, so she sux.

this might account for some of my hate, actually. strangely has not affected my love for rosario dawson.

horseshoe, Friday, 14 September 2007 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

She comes off better in interviews (I think I've seen her on Conan a few times and that's about it) than in her films. Being a complete ignoramus when it comes to film I can't say I've seen her more "serious" work.

Cunga, Friday, 14 September 2007 05:34 (eighteen years ago)

she's been in a lot of crap but i like her.

latebloomer, Friday, 14 September 2007 06:02 (eighteen years ago)

i am a little surprised at nabisco's comment upthread (ie. reconfirmed that she is smart) as for some reason i have been under the impression for a few years that it was an "open secret" in Hollywood that she was stupid and a really bad actress, and - in some more venal way than we usually - really only got film roles by sleeping with people.

mitya, Friday, 14 September 2007 06:56 (eighteen years ago)

she must be a fant shag then...

Mark G, Friday, 14 September 2007 08:08 (eighteen years ago)

I really like her. She passes the 'could I sit and get drunk with this woman' test. I just get the feeling she'd be great to go out with and despite her being all Hollywood gorgeous, you'd never feel like the ugly friend.

Anna, Friday, 14 September 2007 08:56 (eighteen years ago)

She's great, she's always been great, and if nabisco wouldn't actually "do" her I'll give him £5.

Mark C, Friday, 14 September 2007 09:47 (eighteen years ago)

Mark C owes me £4

Watch out Nabisco!

BTW that thread is light hearted and not a dig at Mark C.

kv_nol, Friday, 14 September 2007 10:04 (eighteen years ago)

Aw that's a really sweet thread!

Mark C, Friday, 14 September 2007 10:10 (eighteen years ago)

Boogie Nights for aforementioned reasons.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Friday, 14 September 2007 11:40 (eighteen years ago)

I've gotten through three decades of life without sleeping with Heather Graham, and I'm pretty confident this streak will continue through to my death: I take checks, credit cards, money orders, gold, and petroleum.

nabisco, Friday, 14 September 2007 14:25 (eighteen years ago)

I sat next to HG and Ed Burns once in a restaurant. She was really ordinary looking in person. Cute but nothing special. Also, they had absolutely no problems with engaging in PDA.

ENBB, Friday, 14 September 2007 14:27 (eighteen years ago)

You forgot Anger Management!

Sundar, Friday, 14 September 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)

I can't believe I just voted for Two Girls and a Guy.

haha Without scrolling down, I did, too. Through that's not really about Heather Graham. It's about Robert Downey Jr. being hilariously fucked up and egotistical. "I am the Melancholy Dane."

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

Where is Six Degrees of Separation on this list?

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't forget anything, I deliberately left it out.

blueski, Friday, 14 September 2007 15:48 (eighteen years ago)

Yesterday I happened to see this random band in a pub who all dressed up as Saddam Hussein playing awful political songs in comedy accents...and who went on to do a cover of 'American Woman' by Lenny Kravitz, with this thread's very subject on the video.

That is all.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

I HATE HER

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 14 September 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)

I DON'T REALLY CARE EITHER WAY ABOUT THOSE TWIN PEAKS

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 14 September 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

I think the schef saw a picture of her reading a book while on foot.

Nontheless, she really, really sukcs.

John Justen, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

they're not all that impressive. she's no Audrey Horne.

xpost

horseshoe, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

she sucks but i voted for bowfinger

ghost rider, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

da croupier, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:33 (eighteen years ago)

Heather Graham is awful, yes.

HI DERE, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

god where were all you reasonable people when this poll started?

horseshoe, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

She's like a friendly shark, or a rainbow with a meth problem

nabisco, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

I think the schef saw a picture of her reading a book while on foot.

HI DERE, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:41 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

I wish she was a rainbow with a meth problem! That would be awesome.

HI DERE, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

I get her confused with Kate Hudson so I'm not sure who i hate anymore.

brownie, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

i would lick jewel

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 14 September 2007 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 14 September 2007 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

Do you think Jewel yells her poetry during sex?

HI DERE, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 14 September 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Sunday, 16 September 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Scrubs (as Dr Molly Clock) 6

BAN

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 16 September 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Her character in Scrubs wass pretty lame but her performance in it was far better than in most of her films (same goes for AD actually). Can she just stick to ligh-hearted TV shows from hereon?

blueski, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:17 (eighteen years ago)

she did a pilot last autumn, lasted one (1) ep.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:20 (eighteen years ago)

pilots always do

blueski, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:21 (eighteen years ago)

wait dammit could've done a much better zing there

blueski, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:21 (eighteen years ago)

*gorgeous*. i fancy everyone famous lately though.

pisces, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

Generally, I don;t like skinny blondes. But, hey..

Mark G, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

I loved her in Twin Peaks but that was the first I'd ever seen her in anything and I was 12 or 13 and Annie was kind of written for ridiculous adolescent boys and I was in the chess club then and I don't know what that has to do with anything but lay off jerks.

nickalicious, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

Even Cowgirls Get The Blues should be on this list.

nickalicious, Monday, 17 September 2007 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

I read that as "lay-away jerks"

like.. mmm, i'll "think" about her later...

Mark G, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 08:36 (eighteen years ago)

She's up there with Kate Hudson. I. Can. Not. Stand. Her. At. All. Maybe she exploits her quirky zany methed out persona, but, if at all possible, I avoid it at all costs. Except Boogie Nights, which was great, even though she was in it. I'm not sure why I hate her (or Kate) so much. Probably the bubbly cute roles they play. (Also calling Drew B here!) Coupled with a vapid stupidity (reconfirmed: Kate Hudson's interview in Haaaperz Bazaaar for example).

nathalie, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 09:02 (eighteen years ago)

The fact that she went out with Adam Ant when he first started losing his marbles is the only interesting thing about her

Tom D., Tuesday, 18 September 2007 09:16 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god, I forgot that "stint" in the Lenny Kravitz clip.

nathalie, Tuesday, 18 September 2007 09:18 (eighteen years ago)
