Stowaway

Have you ever been a stowaway on board a ship? Ever been tempted?

I've had one or two opportunities to do this, but what happens to modern day stowaways if discovered?

How easy would it be to get away with sneaking onto a cruise ship and enjoying a few days at sea? Who would challenge you?

Really? How come?

I presume modern stowaways just get fined or something. I guess it depends where you're stowing away.

Is this part of your "one shot" deal?

Ha ha, no we boarded a ship in Oban for a look around, it was very plush. No idea of the origin or the destination but I often wonder what would have happened if we'd stayed.

I wonder if it was one of those Scandinavian cruises.

I really want to go on one of those ones that takes you into the Arctic circle. They're really expensive, though. It's a pity you didn't stay on, just to see what happened.

Next time, I will.

The Arctic cruises look wonderful, I can just see myself on deck, wrapped in a stolen stole watching the Northern Lights and praying to God I don't get caught and chucked off.

You would have to live in THE BOILER ROOM=most hardcore room, and would then be all ready to play the lead in a production of Eugene O'Neill's The Hairy Ape.

I was so disappointed the movie Boiler Room was just about sales. Sales = least hardcore thing.

Very disappointing, Boiler Room brings to mind sweaty, rippled chested men toiling over engines, heaving coal into hungry engines. Or maybe that's just me.

Yes, it's revolting! And you'd have to HIDE under the engines. That's why stowing away is for a very specific temperament.

But I could maybe pass myself off as staff, entertainment perhaps? I'd be without a cabin but I could sleep on deck during the day and watch movies and gamble at night.
