I asked the guy to do that too. He said he'd be much more surprised if it DIDN'T happen than if it did. But maybe they are programmed to say these things in a way that makes me phone flirt.

I'm kind of sad that the music for Mother 3 (that I've heard) doesn't sound like the awesome IDM/sampler noise shit from Earthbound, that was one of the things that totally makes the game a classic. (Moonside music samples Ric Ocasek!!!!)

Can I also ask them to translate the GBA Mother 1+2 cart or is that overkill?

Yeah, nicka, Haruki. It is short and crepey. You can find it on the online but it is way satisfying in the context of the game, which has those occasional weird and sad moments. The story is one of them.

It has two tea breaks, one with the Me. Saturns and one w/the Tengas.

Tombot you are right but there are a few REALLY weird/sad parts: the cave that displays Ness's thoughts, how you defeat Gigyas in the end, that story, Moonside, etc etc etc. But it is really fucking (weird and) funny sometimes: the dinosaur museum guys, the Tengas, Dungeon Man, the whole Stonehenge thing...and some of the music is weird/sad and some is weird/funny.

This game, it was messing with my dreams for a long time.

hah. but also sad, mother 3 was great. can't believe they skipped the entire Wii cycle in putting Earthbound on VC.

yeah, I remember people speculating that this was because nintendo never cleared samples of big name stuff like the beatles and the who for the original release... but I'm not sure how big a concern this ever actually was.

curious if anything's been altered for this release. I'm sure obsessive mother fans are already on the case.

tbf they do deserve some props for bringing certain games over that hadn't got a release here like Castlevania X: Rondo of Blood and the N64 Sin and Punishment, but Earthbound was just so obvious.

hmmm, Nintendo have created a mod only community on their Miiverse service as an "official source for the latest EarthBound news and information". which would seem to imply they have further stuff to announce.
