Dave is a far far better name for a channel than UKTV Bright Ideas
― blueski, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:36 (eighteen years ago)
They should call it "Oh Fuck Off You Tedious Wankers".

Who is gonna photopshop ILX in place of Dave 1st?
TV should be dropped from all channel names - except maybe MTV.
― blueski, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:38 (eighteen years ago)
They should make a sitcom based on the hilarious lives of the guys in the WKD adverts

our core 16-34 male audience
They really think having Clarkson on for 4 hours a day is targeting under 35s?
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:46 (eighteen years ago)

― pfunkboy, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:48 (eighteen years ago)

With a brief to establish Dave as the home of witty banter and as a refuge from the everyday, the award-winning Red Bee's innovative and original creative juxtaposes traditional weekend retreat imagery with contemporary talent from the channel's key content in a humorous and irreverent way to represent the channel's key brand values.
Wankiest load of wanky wank ever.
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:49 (eighteen years ago)
i'm sure there are some young people who like Clarkson as part of liking Top Gear.

"juxtaposes traditional weekend retreat imagery"
waht
"with contemporary talent from the channel's key content"
presenters of other programmes
"in a humorous and irreverent way"
it juxtaposes presenters with "traditional weekend retreat imagery" -- like a fucking country house party? hunting? yachting?
"to represent the channel's key brand values."
the programmes represent the channel's key brand values -- wau.

Wonder if they'll get the rights to 'orrible with Johnny Vaughan and Ricky Grover?
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:57 (eighteen years ago)
Ricky Grover RIP, heaven needed a man who stood out as fucking useless even amongst the 11 O'Clock Show cast
Buzzcocks and Top Gear are both still three-star shows! There's so much worse about.
― blueski, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:58 (eighteen years ago)
Slag of UKTVG2 all you like, but they had Brian Blessed as a pundit during the World Cup last year, so not all bad. Mind you, I watch Top Gear, so am just a penis away from being their target audience.
― ailsa, Friday, 21 September 2007 13:59 (eighteen years ago)
Didn't they also have Ron Atkinson?
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:00 (eighteen years ago)
Don't know. They definitely had Barry Fry though, and it was presented by that twat who's taken over from Tim Lovejoy on Soccer AM.
― ailsa, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:00 (eighteen years ago)
who IS the slag of UKTVG2?
― blueski, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:02 (eighteen years ago)
one for ilxers quoted out of context there ailsa
"I watch Top Gear, so am just a penis"
obligatory :)
― ledge, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)
"just a penis away"
Has this replaced London buses and Wales as a handy mesauring (ahem) tool?
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)
Finally the lol britpop cru have a place they can call home (and then ridicule on the internet)
― Mark C, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:04 (eighteen years ago)

(Am I now in the lol lol britpop cru cru?)
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:05 (eighteen years ago)
You will be able to watch as much "Two Pints of Lager (And a Packet of Crisps)" as you want now. That's always on UKTVG2.
― pfunkboy, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:06 (eighteen years ago)
I thought that was on BBC3?
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:07 (eighteen years ago)
Oh let joy be unconfined. Not that I couldn't watch it before rebranding, or on BBC3, had I accidentally had a lobotomy and/or humour realignment therapy.

had a tivo message saying that there's now a Nuts tv channel on freeview, again 4 hours a day. listings consist of 'Nuts TV' and 'Sign Off' with no other details.
― koogs, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:10 (eighteen years ago)
Isn't Nuts TV a spin-off of Q Magazine TV that just shows SEXXXXY music videos?
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:10 (eighteen years ago)
Dudes who gives a shit? I mean, really? It's not like anyone's going to watch it.
― Matt DC, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:11 (eighteen years ago)
it's only a thread, matt.

Talking of Two Pints... I stumbled across the last episode of the last series the other night. Here is a summary from wikipedia.
The group break into The Archer, despite a curse being on the pub, which states that everyone who enters shall be killed by the thing they love the most. Kelly is suffocated by crisp packets, Louise saws her own head off after sawing into her own leg and bashing herself in the head with a hammer, Donna gets chopped in two trying to break through the glass ceiling, Gaz is crushed by Donna's legs and Jonny is consumed by a giant Jammie Dodger. Janet isn't seen being killed, but as she tries to escape, she is pulled back into the building by the rest of her friends; perhaps as a mimic of the film "Nightmare on Elm Street". Janet then wakes up finding it all to have been a dream. However, she turns her head away from Jonny and when she turns back to look his head is a giant Jammie Dodger....
srsly wtf
I told my wife about it and she insisted they would never make anything so ridiculous and that I'd dreamt it up after watching Resident Evil
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:12 (eighteen years ago)
Gaz is crushed by Donna's legs
This bit doesn't tell the whole story. Zombie top half of Donna is sitting'(well as much as you can 'sit' with no arse) in a toilet cubicle and her legs come out of the next cubicle and shag Gaz to death.
― onimo, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:14 (eighteen years ago)
OK, that has totally improved since I last watched it, which was all just Will Mellor and Natalie Casey making bad knob gags.
― ailsa, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:16 (eighteen years ago)

I think I'll give it a miss then should I ever notice it's on. I think I only ever watched UKTVG2 when Red Dwarf was on anyway. Lst thing i want to watch is repeats of jonathan woss and shitty quiz programs.
― pfunkboy, Friday, 21 September 2007 14:52 (eighteen years ago)
uktvg2 has QI on which i like because i am a P0NCE...
― CarsmileSteve, Friday, 21 September 2007 15:08 (eighteen years ago)
i'll watch dave for qi also. maybe they'll show never mind the full stops as well!
― CharlieNo4, Friday, 21 September 2007 15:22 (eighteen years ago)
QI would be better if they just did away with the quiz aspect. Never Mind The Full Stops is just too punchable.
― blueski, Friday, 21 September 2007 15:29 (eighteen years ago)
NMTFS is fucking UGH. hate that shit. and i do copyediting/copy-editing for money sometimes.
QI is sort of okay but has such shitty shitty guests.
