Snake coughs up entire hippo

So what they've been telling us about "when mommy hippo and daddy hippo love each other very much" was a lie? OMG!

(also: A++ for the presenter's voice in the beginning - is he singing or in a trance?)

This is a very sad video even if it is truly incredible. The baby hippo was already dead so why force the snake to cough it up? Was this done just to get this on film? I do not have audio on this computer so I have no way to hear the report itself if there was one.

I feel sorry for both the snake and the hippo.

Snakes tend to do this when threatened/stressed, so they can (theoretically, not here obv.) flee.

Hippos do kill more humans than snakes do, so maybe this was a chance for humans to say Fuck You to the dead hippo.

Cutty, I am not asking you to feel sad about the video. This is just me.

This video is impressive and makes me question the sanity of people who do not find biology interesting.

I'd rather see this happen than have them cut open the snake just to find out what it has eaten for their statistics/missing livestock investigation/whatever. (This isn't necessarily sadism.)

Nah I kind of agree with Miza. It reminded me of a bunch of 12 year olds taunting an old dog or something. I just thought, like, "leave the goddamned snake alone and let it digest its lunch." kinda pathetic.

feel sorry for the snake, ok, but feeling sorry for the hippo? his check was cashed when he tread too close to the snake.

that said, i also didn't hear the audio. maybe there was something truly enlightening there.

Maybe the snake would have died had they not taken action. Just because he/she could swallow it doesn't mean it was one of his/her better ideas.
