a new thread for this important and exciting occasion.

decision must be made today.

so. tuesday or wednesday?

and suggest the venue

gareth, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

tuesday. not too fussy about the venue - anywhere central and not ridiculously expensive suits me.

toby, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Heh heh. I suggest the Duke of York, Clerkenwell Road, because I am lazy.

suzy, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is anyone else actually planning on coming along??

toby, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

For once in my sorry life I am having to do some actual work and go to Hamburg to do a presentation, so I'm out. I'll be at the King of the Boots night on Thursday though if anyone's planning on that.

Tom, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Shhh Tom it won't be underground if you tell this rabble about it. Also it is TOO SMALL in there for any extra people.

I am thinking that Gareth needs his own steering group to help him arrange this little outing.

Emma, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yes it look that way doesn't it?

ok, its like this: duke of york, clerkenwell road tuesday 7.30 pm
embassy bar, essex road wednesday 7.30 pm

it seems i do not have toms magnetic social charm...

gareth, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Can do Wednesday, can't do Tuesday, anywhere is fine.

chris, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth it is not magnetic social charm that is needed but a FIRM HAND as this is a board of ditherers. Just tell them where to be and when to be there, that's the easiest thing to do as the FAP Steering Group has discovered.

I am easy (arf arf) and will come to any drinks anytime anyplace anywhere.

Emma, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

my formatting wasn't that great was it?
TUESDAY:
Duke of York, Clerkenwell Rd, 7.30

WEDNESDAY:
Embassy Bar, Essex Rd, 7.30

gareth, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know if I can do anything this week.

N., Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

WHy, are you too busy setting up the resistance?

Pete, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Wednesday would be nicer as I have to go out for work this evening and will probably feel like a swamp monster tomorrow, but either really.

Anna, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Wednesday is pub quiz, Tuesday could be done but I really should spend some time in... we shall see how my PINT CRAZE has developed if you go on Tues, cos Wed is out for me.

Sarah, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

DO BOTH NIGHTS!

I reckon Wednesday is better as Tuesday drinking is a wee bit too early in the week. And Sarah the quiz is over by 7:30 and the bar closes shortly after this so you could come along after, innit?

Emma, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Does the embassy show the football?

Jonnie, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Duke shows the football. Argh. And the Sarah/Lixi Axis of Tweevil* can hop the 45 directly, right?

*I'm joking, ladies...

suzy, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh shit yeah, watching Liverpool vs Newcastle is pretty much urgent and key.

chris, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha Suzy, that was funny*!

*I'm joking too!

Also, aint the Duke of York full of cycle couriers? Does Suzy have an ulterior motive to scope out cute boys with large thighs in lycra leggings who are impervious to difficult weather conditions? Eh?

Sarah, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

DO BOTH NIGHTS!

that has become the plan basically. half want tue, half went wed, so...

it is duke tuesday, and embassy wednesday, could be other way around but people will have to say QUICKLY, before anything is finalised

gareth, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, switch if you want people to be able to watch the football. The Embassy doesn't have a screen.

N., Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That makes the Embassy sound like a nicer bar. (Sorry football people)

Anna, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

no switch. we'll keep it as it is

gareth, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ie, what anna said.

gareth, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh bugger.

chris, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am confused. What is happening?

Anna, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

well, it looks like you lot are meeting in Clerkenwell on Tuesday and then the Embassy Bar on Wednesday. Unfortunately I'll be skint and watching footie respectively.

chris, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I can probably make tomorrow at the DoY but not Wednesday.

N., Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah the Embassy Bar. The home of the World Championship of Snooker. I shall arrive late post Tha Quiz Wot The ILE team shall not win.

Pete, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can probably make either.Or both.

Jonnie, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ptee you cannot fix the quizze so the ILE team don't win! that's cheating!

katie, Monday, 4 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

More likely to make Wed....

My full name is Nick aka K_reg, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I shall be there.

suzy, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That looks like a map of clerkenwell to me ;-) See you there.

Ed, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Good god that's close to where I work.

jonnie, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I shall not fix the quiz so you won't win, it shall just happen like that (more questions on Asia and Africa). Though you might get the SPECIAL PRIZE on rubbish Lord Of The Rings.

WHich reminds me, must get Mark S to write the questions for that bit.

Pete, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s, Tuesday, 5 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 6 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s, Wednesday, 6 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete, Wednesday, 6 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not like the OTHER Magnus on Pokémon, then...
