The Laundrette (or Laundromat, I think)

There is no laundrette in my town, I don't know if there ever was one, I assume there must have been at one time.

I've never used a laundrette before, in fact my only knowledge of them stems from Eastenders, a Levis advert and The Steamy (which wasn't really a laundrette)

Do you use one? Do they iron your clothes too? Do they charge per garmet? Is it self service or does someone take your bag of laundry from you in the morning and have it ready for you collecting it in the evening?

We've been a few times to wash our duvets which don't fit in our washing machine. You can do self-service or service-wash (the latter is when someone does it all for you). Charge is per machine. There's a shop in our (me and rumpie's) hometown advertising an ironing service, but I've never seen it open ever.

It never occurred to me there wasn't a laundrette here, but come to think of it, we've always gone to the one in the next town.

I would, as a one time treat to myself, gladly submit all my clean clothes for ironing. Bliss....

I've got a couple near me. One has a great retro shopfront, which I keep meaning to take a picture of.

My local laundrette (not that I use it) is the one from The Young Ones.
