York. I always seem to get lucky there.

Saratoga. Gorgeous place, quality horses. You can hike in the Adirondacks in the morning and hit the races in the afternoon. Good restaurants in town in which to celebrate your winnings or nurse your losses. Also: the movie "Seabiscuit" was filmed there! And its nickname is The Spa! What's not to love?

Doncaster is my second. The good thing about racing towns is the not-coincidental proliferation of pubs en-route to the course.

Cartmel. I have fond memories of Newton Abbot, also.

Aintree is hell, for me. Though it's exceedingly easy to get to.

you've not been to cheltenham then? i love it and all, but eff me it's a long way from anywhere (and this is speaking as someone who lived there 7 years).

i heart cheltenham for atmos etc, but my most profitable one is sedgefield where i had a storming boxing day about 10 years ago

No haven't been to cheltenham. Well, not to the course, anyway.

Huntingdon is the worst I've been to. Jesus, what a tip.
