Tossup between Joy Ride, The Last Seduction, and Red Rock West. I'm going with Joy Ride.

You Kill Me is real good, but yeah Red Rock West is the winner here.

four months pass...

Mentioned this on the Battlestar Galactica season 4 thread, but I think his TV work may just be better than his theatrical work.

I watched Unforgettable last night, after finding it in a sale bin. My ideal DVD is a) a '90s thriller, with b) a name director, and c) a star or two, that's d) cheap. I'm probably going to devote a good part of the rest of my life working my way through this genre.

The thing about these films is that, even though the whole purpose in watching them is to completely shut your brain down for two hours, you still can't help noticing all the ludicrous aspects. Unforgettable fits in quite well on that count--how could it not with Ray Liotta running around sticking needles into the brains of dead people? Liotta's actually fairly subdued when he's not flopping around in the throes of a memory-transferal fit, and Linda Fiorentino's good. The killer's easy to spot early on, because he's played by an actor who always has killer stamped all over his forehead, even when he's not.

I did find the ending a cheat. I think there's a big clue as to what's what, but I'm not sure. I don't know why John Dahl felt ambiguity was needed here.
