brought on by the 'ask and what' thread: what the fuck happened to these things? does anyone else remember them?? they'd say things like "IM GONNA SCHOOL YR ASS" (paraphrasing) & have an image of a guy dribbling a basketball or something. very big in jr high. googling it reveals NOTHING.

except this

yeah, and1 was into shoes for a while...

i have more fond memories of a little company called "NO FEAR" that made "bad ass" nineties t-shirts. I have even more fond memories of a knock-off store-brand called No Surrender, which rivaled No Fear in my school.

They had slogans like "Its not the PACE of life that concerns me. Its the SUDDEN stop at the end" and "Second Place is the first loser." However, No Surrender had a shirt with the slogan getting sucked into a vacuum cleaner. The slogan was:

"LOSING
REALY
SUCKS"

(sic)

This kid at school had it and wore it like once a week, and I would laugh at him EVERY TIME.

yes, in my hs these were a bit later to arrive than 'no fear' but they were the 'no fear' for dudes who thought the 'above the rim' ost was better than 'ropin the wind'

The name of this sub-No Fear brand I saw once or twice has bugged me for years (I only recall it at all because the slogans were so hilariously OTT and bad) and you *might* have just done me a big favour. Whatever it was it prob didn't make it over here (Britisher land) in any real numbers but No Fear did and you still see it around a bit
