I'm sorry, I'm very bored.

The case against Tuesday:

1. You get past Tuesday, only to find Wednesday. At least once you are past Wednesday you have the solace of Thursday.

2. Everybody is mentally primed to deal with Monday. No one pays enough attention to the trials of Tuesday.

3. Tuesday afternoons IMHO are the longest of the week.

4. When was the last time something good happened to you on a Tuesday?

What if you thought you wanted to be in the rut when you got in it, and you can still just about see why you thought that (if you squint a bit), and some of the reasons for getting into the rut still hold, although, okay, they're not as pressing or as pure as they once were? And you've put five years into converting your rut into a comfortable, spacious abode and you didn't really notice until quite recently that the area around the rut had become a subsidence ridden danger zone? And what if some of the immediate problems of the rut (the muddiness, and the leaks, say) might prove to be marvellous advantages (mud statues and a decent water supply, say) with just a bit of work and patience? PLUS *from* your rut you don't see any other ruts you like? What then, Momus, hmm, what then [purely hypothetical]? Bloody Tuesdays.

Theoretically I could, Momus, but I like the comfort value here. ;-)

Tuesdays I very much agree are the ass-day of the week as a whole. Most of the week still lies ahead of you and not much ever seems to happen. It is therefore obnoxious.

Personally I love Tuesdays. I don't think Debord was saying you could simply delete certain days. He was saying that if you live without dead time, there will be joy on Tuesdays also. (Actually, some of us love Tuesdays in particular because they're so far from the Bridge-and-Tunnel weekends, when we have to share Manhattan.)

Gah you ilX0rs gaily working through your standard monday to friday without a care for those who don't share you're regimented shift patterns. Tuesday is the last day of my working week and therefore rules, it's also a really busy day at work so it flies by. And then I'm on the lash for two days. Tuesday is the third greatest day of the week after my weekend of Wednesday and Thursday.

Surprised no one mentioned it being new release day (Stateside anyway), which of course it no longer is. I wonder if anyone ever determined that the shift to Fridays for new releases helped or hurt anything. Though I haven't done many day-of-release purchases in recent years.

When I worked five-day weeks I think I regarded Tuesday as a day to regain hope and inspiration after having managed to get through Monday.
