Matt DC, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 15:16 (eighteen years ago)

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

Posh girls are fucking hot. Trickledown ecs.

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 15:21 (eighteen years ago)

VOODOO

sexyDancer, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

GHOSTS hello that is like far less a damaging idea and kind of quaint unless they're all recording EVPs and stuff and even then that is an ocean of better.

Abbott, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

Dom's logic is impeccable.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:07 (eighteen years ago)

You just want figurative and literal golden showers.

Abbott, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:08 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for spooky before I read everyone else's posts. I am now leaning towards rich girl because now it seems like an easier way to hook up.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:09 (eighteen years ago)

xpost

Rather than ectoplasm, yeah.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:10 (eighteen years ago)

eh ive known a lot of rich girls who seemed more disposed toward ghosts than wingnut economics.

jhøshea, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

VOODOO LOL

jhøshea, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

being rich and believing in supply-side economics dont go hand-in-hand in my experience

max, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

posh girls are into golden showers now?

electricsound, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 01:21 (eighteen years ago)

Yep, seems like you'll need to step up your game.

Consomelia Chisbreth-Vermeer, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 04:24 (eighteen years ago)

spirits is the devil's work

gershy, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 06:24 (eighteen years ago)

what a no-brainer

hstencil, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 06:25 (eighteen years ago)

Ghosts, absolutely.

There's nothing worse than dating a supply-side believer. They're generally Republicans, and that is often just the start of the horror.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 06:29 (eighteen years ago)

tough call honestly but ghosts

gff, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 06:30 (eighteen years ago)

as long as we're into nutcase fantasies, ghosts never hurt anybody

gff, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 06:30 (eighteen years ago)

Ghosts. No question.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 06:55 (eighteen years ago)

If it comes down to voodoo economics or actual voodoo, I'm going with voodoo economics. If someone wants to believe in ghosts, that's okay with me, but I'd rather not be in a position where I'd have to reason with such a person on a regular basis about matters that directly impact my personal life.

o. nate, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:43 (eighteen years ago)

Easy answer, Ghosts. If there were a "neither" option, that would be an even easier answer.

Pashmina, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:44 (eighteen years ago)

well, yeah but.

Is there a pic at the top of this? I cannae see it.

Mark G, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

it would defeat the purpose of the question. xp

s1ocki, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

I'm disappointed Ethan left off Option 3 - 'Jesus'.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:48 (eighteen years ago)

At least with the supply side economics, there's an assumption that the person has reached their position rationally or can at least defend it rationally so there's a possibility that some kind of suasion might change their mind, whereas a belief in ghosts is more of a faith-based position and thus less susceptible to inductive reasoning.

Michael White, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)

What next? "Would you rather fuck a combine harvester or a laptop keyboard?"

I can't answer this

Will M., Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, the one I just constructed is an easier decision... let's make the second one a laptop keyboard COVERED IN ACID

Will M., Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:55 (eighteen years ago)

whereas a belief in ghosts is more of a faith-based position and thus less susceptible to inductive reasoning.

not being facetious, but trickle-down is just as much faith-based -- even if it weren't tied up in puritan ideas about the elect and the undeserving poor and the pointlessness of good works, trickle-down is a bit of make-belief.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)

But at least the 'dismal science' is supposed to relate to empirical study.

Michael White, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

having faith that something is empirical when it's not is uh...

jhøshea, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:59 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, the proper answer IS 'neither' but, upon reflection I have probably had more fun with metaphysically batshit girls than girls who actually still subscribe to trickle down economics.

Michael White, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)

ya i mean we're not talking about becoming this person, just dating, you gotta look at it that way.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:02 (eighteen years ago)

I'm just sayin' the ghost girl usually has better weed and fewer scruples

Michael White, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

yes no fun exactly!

jhøshea, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)

see i have a terrible tendency to date people who have opinions/knowledge that i'm excited to adopt

Will M., Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)

i have no problem at all w/dating girls who believe in ghosts - the whole dead family hanging around would be a bit much tho.

jhøshea, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)

supply-side/trickle-down economics

Eh. Not exactly the same thing. Would I date someone who understands the principle of the Laffer curve, understands that it is often misapplied for political reasons, and does not take it on blind faith that any tax cut at all will increase revenue? Of course I would.

I could care less if someone believes in ghosts or not.

kenan, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

BOOOOOOOOOOO

jhøshea, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

Supply Side. I'd probably hate both people, but somehow I imagine the sex being hotter with a bitchy young Republican.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

actually I guess that's more who I'd rather bang than who I'd rather date

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

ok thanks for the clarification.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:36 (eighteen years ago)

split the difference and get someone who believes in supply-side ectoplasmics

Will M., Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

haha like it matters what the bitch believes in

ken c, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

I actually know two people who claim to have seen the same 'ghost' on the same night, in the same place, and later to have Googled it and found similar sightings. Any number of ways this could be a wind-up though.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

wind-up ghosts

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

anyway as said above why'm I gonna be competing with all the other dudes on this entire thread for ghost lady when Reagonomics is by herself getting in the corner? Anyway I dunno that I've ever even met a girl who fits the latter description

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:45 (eighteen years ago)

i know plenty of otherwise sane and normal people who have had ghost sightings or experienced other SUPERNATURAL PHENOMENA, and it's not like it ever comes up unless you are specifically talking about THE PARANORMAL. i mean not everone who believes in that stuff is a practicing wiccan magick nutjob.

however, everyone i've met who believes reaganomics worked is actively an obnoxious twat.

so ghosts.

bell_labs, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:49 (eighteen years ago)

ghosts seem so much more benign than believing in, say, scientology, it could just be they got really spooked out once on a camping trip.

bell_labs, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

what if the ghost in question is a scientologist

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

i don't think i could date someone who believed that they had been abducted by aliens or that crystals have magical healing properties, but i'm honestly ok with ghosts.

bell_labs, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

ts: woman with a job in finance vs woman who confers with Grammy and Baby Andrea over your shoulder before ordering dinner

gff, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 17:10 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Thursday, 8 November 2007 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm amazed trickle-down economics did so well.

Sundar, Thursday, 8 November 2007 00:34 (eighteen years ago)

People with strong beliefs in paranormal shit can be REALLY annoying

Hurting 2, Thursday, 8 November 2007 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

Which I guess applies to both categories here

Hurting 2, Thursday, 8 November 2007 00:37 (eighteen years ago)
