Welsh Baseball

A Welsh friend was telling me the other day that he used to play baseball as a kid. It turns out that there is a particular variant of the sport that is only played in South Wales, and in Merseyside for some reason. It is, apparently, recognisably a form of baseball, but with some cricket influences, e.g. bat with a flat surface, 2 innings etc.

Your experiences of Welsh baseball most appreciated...

I've no experience with it at all, but I believe this is also known as "British baseball" -

Is this Rounders?

Thanks for the wiki link. There's a link to this site http://www.welshbaseball.co.uk/ near the bottom of that page, which goes into some detail about the history and so forth.

It's apparently similar to rounders, and his lots of similarities with cricket, for example you can hit the ball 360 degrees.

I'm trying to put my finger on why I find this so interesting. I guess it's because one my mates used to play a sport that I never knew existed.

I scrolled quickly past this thread and saw it in the corner of my eye... scrolled back up because I thought I'd have something to had to the "misread thread titles" thread.
