Thank you everyone for your kind birthday wishes! I'm having a lovely day, although Thornton's Viennese Truffles for breakfast and a huge slice of chocolate cake for elevenses have made me rather sugar-rush-giddy!

I am plz to party çe soir as it is also the birthday of the landlord of the village pub and he is supplying much BOUZE of the champenoise variety at a little party-ette for both of us. I feel a bit miffed that I have to share my birthday with him, but am consoled by the thought of all the free drinks.

I was wearing my lycra cycling shorts yesterday in torrential rain and when I peeled them off various parts of my leg were bright red!
