I sleep on an air mattress in the dingy corner of a tiny study, so there's no room for anything under my bed except dirt and dead skin and a few stray pubes.

wanko ergo sum, Friday, 23 November 2007 03:47 (eighteen years ago)

Wooden slats that have fallen out due to nocturnal thrashings.

*rumpie*, Friday, 23 November 2007 07:29 (eighteen years ago)

An art portfolio, dur.

Kerm, Friday, 23 November 2007 07:41 (eighteen years ago)

Nice try. I'm not looking under there.

clotpoll, Friday, 23 November 2007 07:51 (eighteen years ago)

Dust. Maybe a dirty sock or underwear or a remote control that accidently fell down. But usually nothing.

Hey, I'm currently doing that for the last few weeks (except I'm on a dingy futon) and loving it. I'm surprised to find how much I like living and sleeping in the same one room...It feels like an easier transition into sleep with just setting the tv or itunes to turn themselves off as I drift into the arms of morpheus.

Going off to a separate bedroom to sleep would probably now feel slightly depressing.

Bob Six, Friday, 23 November 2007 08:34 (eighteen years ago)

Strange, *theory* says that you should keep the bedroom sparse (no distracting things, like a telly, books,...) because it's easier to fall asleep. I have proven this theory wrong by installing as many distracting things in it as possible: telly (with DVD), stacks of books, knitting,...

Air and dust. More air than dust, at the moment. Good.

StanM, Friday, 23 November 2007 10:35 (eighteen years ago)

bose acoustimass speakers i nicked from work about 10 years ago when i got made redundant - bubblewrapped.

two roll-out zinc drawers with extra clothes i've not worn for 3 years and never will wear again. i actually got a pair or vintage levis out of one of the drawers and shoved them on ebay just yesterday.

a box of old documents, also contains 2 porn videos i'll never look at again.

a shoebox full of essays i wrote 10+ years ago.

about 5 pairs of shoes, i'll never wear again.

Two roll-out drawers full of jumpers and scarves and doss-about-the-house clothes.
A travel cot.
A huge flattened cardboard box that we use for blocking off the computer desk when we let the gerbils out for a run.
Couple of half-read books.
Two pairs of slippers.
Small box of cards and envelopes and writing paper.
Bits of toenail.

ledge, Friday, 23 November 2007 11:59 (eighteen years ago)

why/how do you guys put these things under there?

nathalie, Friday, 23 November 2007 12:08 (eighteen years ago)

Space issues mainly, there's no more room in my closet.

Old computer
Games consoles
A couple of toy synths
Storage box with various video cables
Turntable
Socket set

snoball, Friday, 23 November 2007 12:14 (eighteen years ago)

Nothing, since we have built-in drawers which go almost down to the floor - though the odd book/newspaper has been known to slide under there. The drawers are full of towels, spare bedlinen and a ton of woolly jumpers that are too bulky to go in the wardrobe.
