The $9.50 I won last night came in handy afterwards as I managed to lose just over 10 times that amount at the cash tables. Fucking poker.

How long did those 2 "small scale" games go on for? I fancy playing but I don't want to be up til 2 in the morning with work the next day.

We were done by 90 minutes last week, not sure what happened this week.

I'm in for next time.

Nate, where do you live? I think we'd need to have at least 30 players for the game to last till midnight GMT, and 10 is looking more likely for next week.

can i use full tilt in the us? i haven't played online in quite some time...play a regular thursday live league.

Yeah, I'm using Full Tilt from here in the States. Kinda confused, I thought the new law was supposed to close that off, but most of the people I've seen there are from the US. What is Full Tilt doing different from the other real-money poker sites?

Mark, do you use a PC? I never could find the "show cards" option, was wondering if it was a difference in the Mac and Windows client.

Ken, it's in one of the options menus. I'm not sure why I have it turned on - I assumed it was the default.

The reason Tilt, Stars and many smaller sites still operate in the US is because, as far as I am aware, the legalities surrounding who can be convicted of what are sufficiently vague, and the market so profitable, that they consider it a risk worth taking. Bear in mind, also, that none of these companies are based in the US, where they would presumably be shut down pretty swiftly. There is also a strong movement to have the law repealed, as well as a potential WTO test case where Antigua have threatened to sue the US for some kind of illegal trading barriers.

Okay, we can have one rebuy. The downside is the rake is a minimum of $1 - I assume this means the entry fee would be $5+$1 though I guess it's possible that the minimum entry might be $10+$1. So shall I try for $5+$1 and book it for 9pm gmt on Sunday?

I've actually downloaded the fulltilt software and have been playing the free games. It's not bad. Still skeert of the pay games.

(If there's a game that's "$24 + $2", you only have to pay the $26 and no more, right? Or is the $2 an ante?)

PokerStars has a Mac client in beta now, and I've added it and played some there as well as at Full Tilt. Some parts of the GUI are better, some are worse, no technical problems. They have .01/.02 and .02/.05 games there for the really small stakes players.

Well, yeah, I know what you mean. I'm down about $100 at the two sites. But that's over 10 weeks, and I've spent $10 a week on dumber stuff, and I am getting better (cashed in a couple of SnG's), and I think I'll be breaking even before long.

Mark sets up a tourney with FTP and lets us know the tourney number and the password. Last time we played, an ILX lurker joined in -- we never found out who it was. Usually 3 p.m. Central Time, usually $5 + .50. (5.00 to the purse, $.50 to FTP) I say "usually" because he set it up with add-on/rebuy last time, which I didn't partake of. I think top 3 places get paid.

I'm happy to set one up for this Sunday, you guys - I'll just do the usual and post the details. Anyone else who hasn't posted want to join in?
