well, i won't make the mistake of organising TWO on consecutive days again!

Tuesday at the Duke Of York was a success, a good time had by all i think. participating: me, ed, suzy, anna, emma, pete, mark s, nick d, stevie t, chris, jonnie and alix (apologies to jonnie and alix who i didn't get to speak to, again)

wednesday in the embassy bar, not quite so successful. participants: me, nalini and DG. got there a bit late as well. still good fun, but more a quiet beer than a fully fledged meet up

two in a row is a mistake, should just have had one really. but thanks to everyone who came...

so who answered my LotR questions?

i. everyone?
ii. anyone?
iii. no one?

Last nights quiz was a farce which I would rather not talk about. However I only used two of your questions - the body of water in Mordor (no-one got) and Legolas's Dad - a few got. I wanted to tell the female characters question but I feared that in the heady bar atmosphere the subtle nuances may have been lost.

The phr34X0rs I was with got the body of water question, didn't they? I *knew* the first question asked couldn't be a Sinker question on account of the answer being 22: I mean, no way.

Last night's quiz was an enjoyable farce which I'd rather not talk about.

Team ILE claimed they got the body of water one! I think you have corrupt markers Pete.

Emma, Thursday, 7 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

who let the ORCS out?

mark s, Thursday, 7 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It is quite possible that I have corrupt markers, especially when it comes to team ILE, but even their corruptness would not have prevented the farce. Yes, in retrospect I believe Team ILE got 2 of the LotR questions correct which were the water and Legolas's Dad (cos you got the number of chapter in FotR wrong).

Pete, Thursday, 7 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am aware we got that one wrong, Pete: perhaps you'd like to enumerate how many other questions we got wrong to get to our final total, farcemaster? Heh...

Tim, Thursday, 7 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

how many chapters?!? who the orodruin knows that?

mark s, Thursday, 7 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yayy for team ILE and our *ahem* moral victory! and we did get 2 of the LotR questions right or may we be thrown into the SEA OF NURNEN! and we ate samosas and drank ginger wine! classy i think you'll agree :)

i so meant to be there on tuesday. unfortunately my workmates were insistent on going to the pub after work for a pint, thus kicking off a chain reaction that ended up with me falling over outside all bar one at aroun 9:30. ahem. and last was the fridge gig what i had to go to.

but next time there is a pubmeet i will ensure that i turn up by avoiding my office all day. was particularly annoying the other day as in the past i have always managed to turn up to ones which gareth + mark s didn't, and am somewhat curious to meet you both, and i have failed once more to do so.

i just had a good idea for an ile thread but it will have to wait as i have to go and talk hard maths all afternoon.

I had a nice time anyway, cheers Gareth!
