So... I have been invited to an assessment centre in the next few weeks, which is the next stage in the recruitment process for a job I want. In previous jobs, I've only had 'normal' interviews and telephone interviews - nothing like this assessment centre malarkey. Apparently you go to a hotel with a group of other applicants and some assessors, and go through a series of tasks (some individual, some in groups).
Has anyone ever been to (or been involved in running) one of these things? How did you find it? Did you get the job?

um, studied it at college. know a few people that have gone through it.
tip- learn some HR buzzwords, tolerate idiots in your group for the day, take responsiblity/credit for anything that goes right/wrong in your group assignments. you'll be fine.
