The Brainwasher, Friday, 7 December 2007 19:37 (seventeen years ago)

PEDOPHILE'S DREAM MACAULAY CULKIN, NOT PEDERAST'S DREAM MACAULAY CULKIN GUYS, GET IT STRAIGHT

someone taught me the diff btwn those words yesterday, which made me uncomfortable

Will M., Friday, 7 December 2007 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

That does sound like an awkward language lesson/

Abbott, Friday, 7 December 2007 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

I like how the OP took the time to correctly insert the "cent symbol" in Richie Rich. The details are not the details - they make the poll.

burt_stanton, Friday, 7 December 2007 19:42 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 00:01 (seventeen years ago)

Home Alone is the best movie of all time, BTW.

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 00:06 (seventeen years ago)

home aloen easy

s1ocki, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 02:34 (seventeen years ago)

The Good Son is hilarious because first he's smoking than, ohmigod, he's killing his baby sister!

Eric H., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 03:22 (seventeen years ago)

I really feel like Home Alone 2 is an even better ridiculous child wish fulfillment fantasy

A B C, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 04:06 (seventeen years ago)

I mean when he is getting into the limousine that is gonna take him to the toy store and Rob Schneider presents him with the pizza my god.

I really feel like Home Alone 2 is an even better ridiculous child wish fulfillment fantasy

^^^ this is true. After watching that I tried to go "missing" as often as possible.

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:04 (seventeen years ago)

picking between home alone 1 and 2 is so hard. the first one has the fact that it was first and has the better big booby trap end scene, but 2 is basically any 7-12 year old's most wild fantasy. luxury suite via conning a hotel employee into charging your dad's car, etc. so much great shit in that movie.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:06 (seventeen years ago)

it's funny to watch them now and count the times that harry and marv would have died during the big climax scene. i think in 2, within like a 30 second span, marv gets his head lit on fire, tries to put it out in a toilet that has like gasoline in it then he falls 3 stories into the basement and has a suitcase full of books dropped on his head from 30 ft up.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:10 (seventeen years ago)

it must have been awesome writing that movie knowing that you could literally get away with anything in that scene because your core audience wouldn't know any better.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:10 (seventeen years ago)

The first issue of Entertainment Weekly I ever got after I subscribed had a detailed sidebar explaining how many times over they would've been killed in real life. I remember being a little surprised that one of the most sure-shot death blows were the bricks to the skull from six stories up.

Eric H., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:11 (seventeen years ago)

home alone 1 v 2 should really be the next poll tbh.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:13 (seventeen years ago)

i got a "talkboy" for christmas that year. it was all that i wanted. when i played back people's voices at the slow speed it didn't fool anyone. there are a lot fewer uses for it in real life than in the movie.

max, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:41 (seventeen years ago)

I was given a free pass to see a sneak preview of the Pagemaster, but walked out because I didn't know it was animated and there wasn't shit going on with the sword that was trumpeted in the preview.

My Girl, then.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 05:49 (seventeen years ago)

One of my friends from college briefly dated Mac's My Girl co-star, but I've specifically avoided seeing that (for obvious reasons), so: Uncle Buck.

Pillbox, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 06:06 (seventeen years ago)

anna chlumsky was on 30 rock for a few episodes, so points there.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 06:10 (seventeen years ago)

I have never seen Getting Even With Dad so I feel it would be grossly unfair to vote.

da croupier, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 07:16 (seventeen years ago)

HI KIDS, WE'RE HOME EARLY

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 07:18 (seventeen years ago)

The answer is so easily Uncle Buck.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 07:44 (seventeen years ago)

Pagemaster features WHOOPIE GOLDBERG as a TALKING WINGED BOOK.

Abbott, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 19:26 (seventeen years ago)

gross = amazing

billstevejim, Monday, 22 December 2008 02:04 (sixteen years ago)

i got a "talkboy" for christmas that year. it was all that i wanted.

me too! and yeah the reality was kinda a letdown. :(

home alone 1 has a lot of genuinely funny bits, i remember cracking up as a kid when kevin refuses to tell the checkout lady his name "because you're a STRANGER." they knew their audience well.

J.D., Monday, 22 December 2008 02:28 (sixteen years ago)

re-poll pls

OɔIXEW (cozwn), Monday, 22 December 2008 02:42 (sixteen years ago)

*Wacky Violence: Tool chest crashes down stairs and breaks through door against which Harry and Marv are standing; they suffer broken noses. They straighten out their noses themselves. Damage:Accurately depicted in film.

!

Uncle Buck is a better film, Home Alone (1) is better MC vehicle.
