Please help me remember the name of this video game/computer game

I believe this game just came out, as it was reviewed by the AV Club not too long ago.

The game is in the style of a first person shooter, but from the screen shots I saw it mostly took place in a white room. I think the game was mostly about its strange physics and this weird physical warp your gun created, which you used to solve puzzles.

I think it may have started with a V and was originally designed by students somewhere. Any ideas?

this Box is rather Orange

Portal is completely great. It's part of The Orange Box, a compilation of Half-Life-related stuff. It isn't a graphical marvel, but it's one of the most creative wrinkles on the possibilities of video game space and logic I've experienced.

Plus, it's pretty universal and simple: the game's buttons are: jump, place an orange portal, place a blue portal, open door. That's about it.
