Weeks are so comfortoable.

Years and days are the only salient measures, they're not based on an arbitrary assignment of numbers to fit into a time period, rather they're based on actual rotations of the earth, so you get some consistency. Days change too much, while years on the other hand give you enough time for reflection but still foster a strong feeling of nostalgia or what have you comparative to other relative years, due to seasonal changes, and things like school years (for students), and ummm, year end lists.
On a purely social level, I think Months should get much more credit than they do.

I saw a performance of a song from "Rent" on the Rosie O'Donnel show years ago. The song sucked, but it taught me something useful for the occasional conversion: 525,600 minutes; how do you measure a yeeeaaarrrr?

I said this exact thing in 8th grade. (our music teacher made our class perform that song in front of the entire school)
