Do Inverness Caledonian Thistle ever chant "I'm going going, back back, to Cali Cali"?

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:42 (seventeen years ago)

much like any non-spl team, this poll is never really gonne take off.

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:42 (seventeen years ago)

No Accies, no credibility

That mong guy that's shit, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:43 (seventeen years ago)

Where's Morton?

Tom D., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:44 (seventeen years ago)

Right ferg, I'm voting Villa in that other poll now!

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:49 (seventeen years ago)

Gretna

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:54 (seventeen years ago)

They're in the SPL. Just.

Tom D., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

No Dunfermline Athletic - No Credibility

treefell, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 15:03 (seventeen years ago)

Given the options the correct answer is Airdrie (fans wearing Klan outfits, supported by Jim Trainer, the list goes on!).

Partick are mostly harmless.

onimo, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

Partick are probably more hated than any non spl team put together by fans of non spl teams just because they are the glasgow media faves.
Airdrie are hated for obvious reasons. so i hope everyone votes both.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 16:38 (seventeen years ago)

Airdrie by a landslide. Jags = cuddly team for students who don't want to admit to their new friends that they're Rangers fans

Tom D., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 16:40 (seventeen years ago)

Being a Jags fan (it was the closest ground...how else do you choose?), I'm obviously going to say Airdrie, being a bunch of racist scumbags and whatnot. Don't know where the Jags hate comes from - not choosing sides in a rivalry that often explodes into sectarian violence seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Gukbe, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:19 (seventeen years ago)

Is the Airdrie / KKK thing a one-off or is there a history of it?

DJ Mencap, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's as much to do with the town as the club - the town being a hotbed of Orange bastards staunch Protestantism

Tom D., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:28 (seventeen years ago)

To be fair it wasn't ordinary Airdrie fans. it was those wankers in the Section B.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:43 (seventeen years ago)

In a crowd of 1200 you're splitting them into sections?

onimo, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:45 (seventeen years ago)

Airdrie Utd = fucked over Clydebank to force themselves back into existence after Airdrieonians went tits up. Can't like them ever.

lol at trying to justify racist Airdrie fans by saying "it was just some Airdrie fans". Still fucking Airdrie fans, aren't they? xpost

Partick are probably more hated than any non spl team put together by fans of non spl teams just because they are the glasgow media faves.

REALLY? I have never ever heard this theory ever. I don't even know any Clyde fans who genuinely hate Partick, and that's their "official" rivals.

so i hope everyone votes both.

Yes, that always makes for a constructive poll.

ailsa, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:49 (seventeen years ago)

sonned

That mong guy that's shit, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:50 (seventeen years ago)

The ones I knew despised them.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:56 (seventeen years ago)

"knew" = have they all fallen out with you now because Clyde fans aren't too fond of Hamilton these days?

lol at Partick being "Glasgow media faves", btw. Which parts of the media would this be?

ailsa, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:00 (seventeen years ago)

I would imagine we wouldn't be welcome in their company now.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

Waht, really? People actually wouldn't talk to you any more because they've decided they hate your team more than they hate Partick?

I still want to know which parts of the media have Partick Thistle as their favourites.

ailsa, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:25 (seventeen years ago)

what's wrong w/ Morton?

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:28 (seventeen years ago)

Tom D is from Paisley. It's a Renfrewshire thing.

ailsa, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:29 (seventeen years ago)

Here's some of the section b wankers
airdriehooligans.homestead.com/index.html
airdrieyouth.proboards36.com/index.cgi

If that doesn't get them to walk this poll nothing will

Well, some of them already hated us back then!

In the 1990s when accies and thistle were main rivals for promotion radios Clyde/Scotland/Daily Record/The Sun/Scotsport etc all went on about thistle as "everyone loves thistle and want them promoted". Everyone outside glasgow hated them. I used to buy fanzines of all the 1st division clubs(I used to help my mates run their accies fanzine) and trust me, they all hated Thistle.Maybe things have changed now. Since Lambie left i doubt a lot of Accies fans care anymore either. Thistle used to have casuals back then too So maybe that was why people hated them.
Airdie on the other hand will always be despised, maybe even more so than Motherwell. Until we get in the same division as them at least.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:32 (seventeen years ago)

That 1st link to the section b. Im totally amazed there's a scotland flag on it. I've never seen an airdrie fan with a scottish flag ever. It's always union jacks. Infact when accies fans waved scotland flags they usually booed and sang rule britannia and god save the queen.

Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 18:35 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Did I miss the Liverpool/Clyde FITE somewhere down the line?

aldo, Sunday, 16 December 2007 18:44 (seventeen years ago)

You were probably too busy milking a joke for the 100th time to notice :)

Herman G. Neuname, Sunday, 16 December 2007 18:50 (seventeen years ago)

I actually went to see the Maryhill Magywars a few weeks back., my mate recently moved into a flat in Maryhill and Firhill is walking distance so we decided it might be a laugh to go along (we're both Tims). My first taste of non-top-flight football. With a two nil lead at 90 minutes from well-worked goal in the first half and another strike in the second half Thistle looked sure to win. They managed to lose a penalty in 91 minutes and a further goal at 92 minutes to draw 2-2 against St. Johnstone. There was a lot more invective between the fans than I expected, unless there's some sort of west end of Glasgow/Perth beef going on that I'm unaware of. We're thinking of going to see Accies soon because that's walking distance from my bit.

And if I had been in time to vote for this I would have gone for Airdrie too. Scum.
