i think that's my least favorite (also least re-watched, though, so i don't remember much).

it's a toss-up between dafoe/dillon/waits, probably dafoe

I've gotta go with Jarmusch, simply because all of the irony and in-joking of the whole process goes out the window when they actually catch a (fucking huge) shark.

Dillon, for the guide that turns into a bird.

Also, "Fisherman don't have much to say to each other." and "I think this is John's best show yet."

It has been 7 years since I've seen any of them, though.

was the one with William Dafoe where you could here his (Dafoe's) internal monologue the whole time and he's all "WTF why am I here, etc?"

that one.

Still <3 John Lurie forever. Music's great. Co-stars are A+! The one that ends with Willem Dafoe and John actually dying is next-level. Love how bizarro-o_O-wtf everything is.

Z S could do something with this if he applied himself:

Why didn't I ask Jarmusch about this on that fateful day?

"gunsmoke was one of my favorite shows"

And “Fishing with John,” a tongue-in-cheek cable show about his fishing trips with wild men like Dennis Hopper, showcased all his ingenuity and lacerating candor. Tom Waits got so mad at Lurie during their trip that the two stopped speaking. Matt Dillon complained about his episode, Lurie recalls, saying, “You made me look dumb.” “No,” Lurie replied. “God did that.”
