I was just outside. The wind is powerful today but there's this cypress tree, barely moved by it. Just standing up tall and proud. Such a strong tree, just so amazing. They're so solemn and majestic.

I see them planted in cemetaries a lot. I've got a few on my property and I like them, but there's some old, gnarled-trunk ones a few blocks from me that I really like.

jergins i don't even remember what i said! and i don't think i've been drunk enough to start forgetting things in a long time. though i guess i don't really need alcohol to start forgetting things.
for whatever reason, there's always this idea in the back of my head that cypress cones are lethal, that you'll touch one and it will prick your finger and fuck you up. i know this isn't true, but the association is there. thinking about it now, this probably contributes to why i feel...distant from those trees.
i also associate them confusion, but that has more to do with arboretum and it's absurd variety of trees.
i thought about starting a favorite tree thread, but i kept forgetting. right now my favorite tree is the giant sequoia.
