I didn't want to start a new thread so I'm hijacking Dr. C's. Hope you don't mind!

My friend's Brighton-based record label is celebrating its first birthday this weekend with a free afternoon showcase at the Notting Hill Arts Club. I can personally recommend all the acts on the bill. Not that that means much coming from me but still. Lonely Ghosts is the new solo project from Help She Can't Swim's Tom Denny, the others are just great.

This Friday : album launch party at the Bull and Gate, Kentish Town. We're onstage at 9.30pm, but get there early to see I,Ludicrous at 8.45!

Also playing are Deptford's finest, The Probing Cranks, and Chris Hawkins from BBC6 Music will be DJing.

Hot rockin' this Saturday :

Why not shake off the January blues by coming to our first gig of 2009, at Ladbroke Grove’s magnificent Parliament Club on Saturday January 17th? We’re playing at around 8.30, so get there early!

Also on the bill are West London’s legendary garage-rockers The Fallen Leaves , and the magnificent Scarlet’s Well, fronted by ex-Monochrome Set and Adam and The Ants man, Bid.
