my phone is my alarm clock, an arrangement i expect many here share. when it goes off, it lets me either "turn off" or "snooze" - if i choose the latter it then tells me it will go off again in 9 minutes.
the trouble with this is that in the seconds after waking, these instructions and options often appear as if written in another language. for instance, this morning i was presented with the choice between "Gbilz" and "Skihlric".
what odd things have you seen on your phone just after it's woken you up?

I usually wake up moments before it goes off, so I'll be holding it when it buzzes and goes of, awaking me even further (I'm never awake enough to think this might happen). No weird stuff yet, I think it's not old enough to start crashing already.

stan i think you misunderstand! i am fairly sure that my phone is operating normally - it is my brane that is crashing

Oh! I see. I only ever misread the time. WHAT??? 9:30???? (oh, 6:30, phew.) (but by then I'm awake of course, damn).

Haha I totally get this, except I don't think I read it as something concretely different, I'm more like <i>"Slumre*?" That's not even a word!</i> or <i>oh no it's turned to Hungarian</i> or <i>I see the numbers... but... what do the numbers mean??</i>
*) slumre = snooze
Also: trying to find the "snooze" option on the screen when there is someone actually calling me.

I don't use (or need) an alarm clock of any kind. I go to work after I wake up naturally, have a cup of tea and read a bit of the NYT.
Yes, I said this just to make you jealous.
