Blue. I'm biased though, cuz my hair is blue right now, and I'm getting all sorts of attention and cute comments that I didn't expect. "Electric Blue" that is

If you're doing it yourself, here are a few tips:

  • Well, bleach it first if you want that pure color. Or don't if you want a highlight or something. If you do bleach it, wait half a day or so before you apply the dye, as your scalp might still be a lil' hot from the bleaching. Doesn't mean you can't, but it'll be a little more comfortable that way.
  • Buy a lil' jar of Vaseline, and apply a line of it around your hairline, so that if you mess up and dye your forehead, neck, or something, it can easily be washed off.
  • Buy a pair of latex gloves, so you don't dye your hands in the process
  • Buy a little brush to apply the dye with. You can usually get those for really cheap at the same places where you'd by hair dye.
  • Make sure you rub in the double entendres when you buy the Vaseline and latex gloves at your local supermarket.
  • Try not to wash your hair as hygienicly possible. (Is hygienicly a word?)

It's blue and it rocks. I have seen Brian with the blue. He is the Glam Supastah of the Modern Day, and you wish you were him.

I think the best answer to which hair color suits you is to think of your favorite Muppet/Sesame Street character, and emulate that.

Me? It's the Cookie Monster. So there you go.

Brian MacDonald, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

But what if you're most like Kermit? He was bald.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

AND green. Green scalps are cool.

Dan Perry, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah, pine green.

Orange! It's the new Blue!

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yikes. I don't think hair the colour of Beaker would suit me.

RickyT, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

black.

Electric blue sounds kinda smurfy.

Nicole, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

On Brian it's more Buddha-like.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 10 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Two questions: What is your natural hair color? And are you doing full head or just streaks or ends or what?

I have dyed my hair red and blue in the past...plus I have gone with the very much overused blonde/bleached look. Goodness that was a while ago. But anyway, I have black hair so I had to bleach first to get the colors to show first anyway. I had red streaks and then my ends were blue late last year. It was cool - I got lots of comments..though after the blue started to fade to a bluish green I got creepy comments..but whatever..

I would suggest red though, it's really hot...especially on guys. If you look up Mana from Malice Mizer, a visual kei group from Japan, you'll see the wonders of blue...if you look at any of the other band members (new or old), you'll see just about all the other colors eventually...

i am a chestnut brown and looking towards a honey color

anthony, Monday, 11 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My favourite Sesame Street characters were OSCAR THE GROUCH and Big Bird. Following Briangs LORE that means I should have fluffy yellow and green stripeZoR! This sounds remarkably Afro Ken like so I think I will do it!
